Mateo Kovacic is ready to renew his contract with Inter until 2019 according to todays edition of Gazzetta dello sport. According to the newspaper everything is done and Inter will soon announce the agreement. The Croatian will see his wages rise from 1.5 million euro’s/season to 2 million euro’s/season starting from July. To this ammount bonuses will be added based on the team reaching Champions League and other individual performances. This is a strong signal to the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid who have been interested in Kovacic the last few months.

In the modern game having a release clause is basically an open invite to the richest clubs man—Madrid, Barca, Bayern wouldn’t even blink at 50 million for Kovacic in a couple of years. the decision makers would be scrambling over each other for their check books…
We don’t know what his career-high value will be or how quickly he will reach it.
