Welcome to a new feature on SempreInter! As the name suggests, we will be naming a ‘Player of the month’; each month based on the match ratings given by the SempreInter staff.

If you’ve been following each Inter game this November, it wouldn’t come up as a surprise that our best player this month has been none other than our goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic.

He played 5 out of the 6 games this month and his average rating was 6.70. Like the rest of the team, his November started poorly where he conceded twice to De Ceglie at the Tardini. He was rested against St. Etienne when we travelled to France and it did him a world of good; as he saved his first penalty of the month against Hellas’ Toni at the Meazza.

In the derby, he cannot be blamed for not being able to stop Menez’ finish but made a huge save on El Shaarawy. Statistically, his best performance was against Dnipro in the Europa League where he saved a penalty…again!  He provided some much needed inspiration for his 10 man team to turn it around. He was deservingly rated 9.5 for this game. His defensive team needs to share much of the blame for the goals conceded against Roma where he ended the month with a rating of 6 in spite of conceding four..
