TuttoSport report this morning that before Inter leave for Qarabag there will be a meeting to discuss the plans for January’s transfer market. The aim is to find Roberto Mancini some solutions so that he can employ the tactics he wishes to use. The first idea is Alessio Cerci, a loan with the right to redeem but this is unlikely to satisfy Atletico. The alternatives remain two outgoing Arsenal players (Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell). Meanwhile Mohamed Salah of Chelsea is a loan target. Mancini has identified a defensive midfielder as a priority, Lucas Leiva is the idea for that position, Liverpool would gladly move him either on loan or permanently.

Hmm Lucas Leiva is turning 28 this January, which means he will face his best footballing years just about NOW! Maby a loan would be a smart move! Surely cannot get any worse than what we already have and if Mancio wants him!!

Inter should get Wilfried Bony as a striker and Paulinho as a defensive midfielder and come back Cassano or Taider.
Also,Inter needs to reinforce defender.So get Korarov or Nastasic from Manchester City.

There’s a lot romuors that Tottenham want to sell Vertonghen and Moussa Dembele, both are 27 years old. It’ll be very hard to win the competition fir Vertonghen and probably his price will be out of our reach. But i can think that we can try for Dembele, this season he’s playing very little, i think that he’s very good central midfielder with more than 50 games for Belgium and could very helpful for us.
Defensive midfielder? Why? Fix the damn defence first! Nagatomo & Ranocchia simply cannot continue in this club, until they are here, until Ranocchia is the captain, we will never be a contender again.
We really need someone who can control the game from deep! We saw it yesterday when the team started bombing ball forward instead of playing the ball forward – we need a “pirlo” who can “suck” the balls to him and ease the pressure of the defenders and help in building up our play!

I’m with you about Patrick Olsen, he is the regista we need.
Both are great youngsters – but not ready I think to step up just yet… Maby this Liverpool reject call help us out for a couple of years until Olsen and Crisiteg are ready 🙂

Yep I also thought M’vila had the regista in him but seems (so far) like Mancio see him as a destroyer only! Getting Lucas Leiva on loan would be a fine solution I think – turning 28 next january wo many years in front of him still, loads of experience from Liverpool and the brazilian national team plus he has Italian roots!

And i can tell you that guy is not Lucas Leiva, believe me. Most important task for every defensive midfielder is to take the ball back, Pirlo is far away from being defensive midfielder. Medel and M’Vila are defensive midfielders, Khrin could be used too, why in that case we need this winter another defensive midfielder?
Hmm defensive playmaker should it be called instead of just def. mid. 😉 But still Alonso, Verratti and Pirlo are all playing as def.mid but are playmakers not destroyers like Medel !
This is some kind of fictional player defensive playmaker. Pirlo can’t defend and that’s not one of his strengths, almost same for Verratti. Xabi Alonso is one of those rare players who can play almost equally well in both phases defense and attack, but where we can find one almost free? When you have three players for one position and almost zero budget for transfers, it’s not very clever to get new one. For this winter we have a way bigger needs winger and attacking midfielder. In my opinion Lucas Leiva is mediocre at best, if you don’t believe ask any Liverpool fan.

Yes fictional.There’s no universal players, who can make everything and it’s no needed. Xavi can’t defend, his job is to make the transition and provide fluidity, not to make tackles, interseptions and to stop opposite attacks. As i understand in the article talk about defensive midfielder or destroyer if you want, why you talk about Pirlo or Xavi?
that’s absurd because we have a lot of destroyers (medel, M’vila and even Krhin and Kuz) but a true regista is nowhere to be found – maby only Kuz has the ability to pass and “suck” the ball like Pirlo – but like a “Pirlo-very-very-very-light”!
