Gazzetto dello Sport lets us know that even if January has not started, it is well and truly mercato season.

Inter has apparently made a bid for Allan of Udinese and it has already been denied.

“Interest was clearly demonstrated a few days ago and a bid was tabled for the Udinese midfielder,” Gazzetta writes. “An offer, which, however, was unsatisfactory to the Pozzo family. The Nerazzurri are under the watchful eye of UEFA, and so can only make moves via loans or spending little. And it’s more or less like this that the Inter leaders have approached for the Udinese Brazilian. The offer consisted of a loan application (costing about one million) with right to redemption in July. Udinese did not consider it appropriate for Inter’s proposal.”

The Nerazzurri are likely to make a second attempt for the 23 year-old soon.

Author’s note: “Allan. ALLAN! ALLAN! ALLAN!” Okay, I doubt anyone knows the video I’m parodying…it’s got meercats and dancing birds and…nevermind. But yeah, I like this move. Young player who has been on the up for the past couple years. Has had great tackling and interception numbers and has a low salary. Keep ’em coming!
