Xherdan Shaqiri’s brother Erdin met with Inter, and Juventus today.
Emanuele Baiocchini reports that Inter are ahead of their rivals by virtue of the offer that was submitted. The Nerazzurri’s is said to appeal to Bayern more than that of Juventus. While that may be the case, the Turin club would offer a better wage package than Inter can currently offer, with Inter still a way off the player’s request.
While that is the situation in Italy, other things brew abroad. In England, Liverpool have readied €14 million to pay Bayern to sign him outright, although they have yet to meet with the player’s entourage. Their offer hits below Bayern’s valuation, that starts at €15 and could go towards €18 with bonuses.

Author’s note: Man, I wonder what we’re offering. EPL money is just too easy to spend. I hope we pull a Milan, and simply offer a better deal to the club than the others. Bayern do not need winter reinforcements, which should mean they do not need much money now. Since we did not spend on Poldi, we could possibly offer a little cash now, a good wage deal for the player (high in CL-qualification bonuses), and a couple million more than the competition in the summer.
That being said, since his contract ends in 2016, we would somehow have to be certain he would sign a new contract with us after his loan, if we purchased him, or else we could lose him for free a couple months down the line. Risky business. I think if signed, it would be a HUGE statement for the squad, the league, the organization, and other players thinking whether or not to join us in the future. I still won’t get too hopeful.
What do you think about Liverpool’s offer? And our chances to land the player?

Sign Shaqiri NOW – he’s simply the best investment we can make and also sign Konoplyanka for FREE in summer.

if we purchased him, he’ll be given new club contract, the 2016 is the bayern one, not risky at all, it’s depend how we’ll pay bayern, 3 years installament sounds fair & realistic for current Inter
This is a player will need..this is a player we have to have for now and for the future….but i am afraid to get my hopes too high for two reasons…one i don’t think Thohir will spend over 10mil for Inter i really don’t …and two i don’t think we can afford his wage… i will be so shocked if we get him…but if we do we are winning something this year weather is EUL or Copa Italia ..
If we cant get him, please do join liverpool instead of rubentus. But, plis do your next thing thohir! Show us
Inter management should keep an eye on Florian Thauvin too! unlike Shaqiri he is in form and surely costs less than him
Great player! But I’m afraid Inter isn’t interested :/
I read Thauvin is rated at 25m, which is too much IMO. Why do you think he would cost less than Shaqiri? He’s a starter in France.

french clubs usually sell their bests for relatively low price – just think of Aubameyang, Belhanda, M’Vila (to Russia), Cabaye (to Newcastle), Debuchy, and many many many more from the past. according to transfermarkt Thauvin is cheaper than Shaqiri
if i were Inter sporting director, i’d look for players in France and The Netherlands

I seriously doubt shaqiri would come to inter due to our financial situation.. But if we somehow manged to sort out some deal with bayern then shaqiri would consider to play for inter because he knows that inter do not have wingers and if we get him he will be in the starting eleven!!
Inter should outbid the other interested clubs to get this deal done. It’s worth it. Sometimes you need to pay that extra cash for the players who you know will make the difference, rather than pay small amounts for several players who none will make much difference, and at the end you have difficulty getting rid of ’em. Get it done Thohir. You won’t get many chances like this in this inflated market.
I hope the massive summer market of Loserpool prevent them to sign Shaq straight away. They spent lot of money in summer and still haven’t sold anyone to earn some of that.
dont believe in this! after the mercato we will all cry after we sign podolski and a unknown right wing who is 28!
honestly we have no chance to sign shaqiri .
we should go for salah instead of him .
we have more chance to get salah .
We could really do with learning from the cerci situation here. Observe: supposedly Inter approached the player and reached an agreement. Meanwhile Milan approached the club and reached an agreement. Atletico put their foot down and say “it’s Milan or **** off to our bench”. Result? Cerci ends up at Milan.
So we need to agree with Bayern. Screw the player’s wage demands for now. Club first, player second.
That is not always the case. Cerci was a special situation. I think you need to approach the player first to make sure he wants to come to inter and then talk to his club.
Player power is really overrated. clubs pay the salaries. so long as they do that and have FIFA rules on their side the player’s whims are less relevant. when we hear about players ‘forcing moves’ it normally seems to mean the club bends to a financial incentive from the buyer. e.g. Bale, Suarez, Rojo. The club can just as easily stand firm (Llorente, Tevez) and the player rots on the bench
