La Gazzetta dello Sport reports on two players who are on the edge of starting in Turin.
Palacio has had an ankle injury for some time now. Even a long break could not fully ensure his presence against Juventus. However the player would most likely start and play through the slight pain he may have left.
In regards to the defense, Juan Jesus will return to his center back role. The most interesting possibility in regards to the lineup is who will partner him. Vidic may be a surprise inclusion in place of Ranocchia.

Author’s note: I really do not know what our most sure center back pairing is anymore. Ranocchia can score, but he’s only making up for so many mistakes in front of our goal. Vidic had his fair share of mistakes, but is yet to play in Serie A for Mancini. Andreolli has looked sure enough when he’s played, but he’s played games few and far between. Campagnaro could feature as a right back, but even he looks a bit off the pace. Roberto Mancini has quite a bit to think about…

I would start Dodo-JJ-Vidic-D’Ambrosio for now.
He have to know if Vidic still has to offer something or not, so we can plan for the future. There are several young promising defenders available for FREE in summer, such as Fabian Schär [2015] / Ezequiel Muñoz [2015]. We just need to agree a deal from now before others. I like the Basel defender!

Clearly Mancini must think allegri is stupid if he is throwing out the idea of vidic starting to throw juve off. Juve will not buy it because if vidic really does start I’m betting the farm on juve winning! Start nagatomo-campagnaro-ranocchia-Jonathan that would be perfect! Hahaha
Most of vidics mistakes was when playing in a three man defence, i hope to see him play, at step up..
Vidic has played barely 1 game as part of a 4-man defence since arriving. I’d like to see him thrown in at the deep end and partner juan in the cb slots. If he screws up then we know it’s not because of a 3-man defence anymore. In future we can revert to our tried and tested juan-rano pairing or whatever.
If Mancini were to name a new captain we’d probably not be having this conversation at all-rano just wouldn’t play. On the other hand he’d probebly leave as well :p
Lukas Spendlhofer and Simon Pasa!! They were really good when they got the chanse under Strama!
JJ and rano for me. but against juve we need medel on the pitch. he can fill those spaces caused by rano going forward.
What I would do move JJ to left back put Vidic and Ranocchia in CB and D’Ambrosio at right back
That brings us from one good CB to 0 if we move JJ to the left.
You do realize how many mistakes JJ makes right from being caught out of position to making mistakes that forces Ranocchia into making dumb tackles to save a goal or getting caught 2 on 1… I’d rather put JJ on the wing cause he likes pushing fw
Well he isn’t perfect I agree but he is way better than Ranocchia for sure. How many times Rano screws up? 🙂
We have Dodo for the left back position, he isn’t perfect but I’d rather play him and let him develop than use Vidic.

Dodo nerds a lot of work with his defensive side of his game Vidic isn’t bad also Ranocchia isn’t bad he just gets setup a lot to be honest
