Sorry but you are mistaken. IF he runs through the play instead of throwing himself at it he would have had an easy goal. He generally needs 3 to 4 chances to score one goal. He is below average in my opinion, but opinions do vary 😉

Hmm, not sure I score there as I am past my prime but I am fairly certain most high level, highly paid, international strikers bury that in the net. I do however likely score like he did earlier because of Buffon totally playing the shot like an amateur.
I he runs too much through the play he’ll be in offside. When you pass the ball it’s your job to deliver it where your teammate is, not when he supposed to be. The pass was to far from Icardi and that’s obvious.

They are running at nearly full speed and you want the ball played to where Icardi is at??? Ball was played forward of a running Icardi, no chance of offsides whatsoever. Passing is playing the ball where your teammate needs to have it. Good ball, bad finish. Period!
It can’t be good ball when striker have to throw himself with two legs ahead to reach it. If you insist Icardi to score you have delivered comfortable ball, the pass from Poldi was too forward and that calls bad pass.
That’s my point. He DID NOT have to throw himself at the ball the way he did. He needed only to keep running. His slide was not even good techinique. His expression told everyone he knew that he messed up. Get over your belief that he anything special. He is only special due to the other strikers we have being so not special.

Guarin did a good job stopping Drogo from killing Icardi. It was an error of judgement of him not to pass, but without him we couldn’t have had this result. Let’s hope we reach 3rd so he stays and he matures a bit into a more team player.

I agree, and I don’t accept the “He is young, he will learn” talk. He plays football since he’s a little kid, trust me, he knows when is the right moment to pass and when is the right moment to shoot.

My honest opinion is that Icardi defined yesterday’s game like day and night.
First he scored the goal that started the avalanche for Inter – which is GOOD and won us a point we probably wouldn’t have won otherwise (until that goal we were as dead as the Gobbi, it came out of nowhere and started us up; also, credit to Guarin for making that fantastic pass!) and then he could have settled the game himself or by a pass and he didn’t do it, probably got carried away wanting to be the ultimate hero – which is BAD.
He did the best and he did the worst, so he’s no hero but he ain’t no villain either. I just think Osvaldo overreacted for a football situation. He’s done similar things in the past and no one wanted to bite his head off.
Ultimately, like I said, as long as they’re okay in training today, I can sleep at night. Icardi should get reprimanded by Mancini, but so should Osvaldo. Neither is a hero right now, but they damn well should be in the future, because with them hitting it off on the pitch, we won’t win shit.

Mauro was wrong, Osvaldo exaggerated with the reaction – that’s that. As long as they’re okay in training tomorrow, I can sleep well. And we need wins, the next 7 if we want CL football.
You know what i think? We are a little bit unrealistic with that desire at all cost to reach third place and that pressure effects negatively on the team. In my opinion it will be better, if we set goal to reach Europa League and if we made miracles and get CL spot, than great.
Oh I’m prepared for not reaching 3rd. Actually don’t think it’s possible at all. But they’re the ones who keep blabbing about it, about all the good things that can happen if we reach it, how much easier the club will get along etc. Can’t blame me for hoping xD Besides, if we’re getting Shaqiri before the Genoa game, I expect a massive lift.
I really think that if we want anything we really need to make the most out of the next 7 games (Genoa H, Empoli A, Torino H, Sassuolo A, Palermo H, Atalanta A, Cagliari A) because after that it’s Fiorentina at home and Napoli away, then Sampdoria away only to finally finish “easily” with Parma at home (revenge would be sweet).
Osvaldo did not exaggerate at all. His action was completely justified. Every single game you see Dani getting into position only to see the crosses be extremely poor. Come a breakaway in the last minutes vs Juve and you expect a similar person (striker) to make the best decision, yet putacardi goes for glory himself. I would have been shit mad as well, wouldn’t be surprised if he got beat up in the locker room and came up with this statement afterwards.
