News regarding Shaqiri: “He chose Inter, the Inter project fascinates him. They are also working on Lavezzi, but the Swiss is less difficult to take. There is Liverpool, but Inter has the greater guarantee of holding the player.”
Inter are waiting on FIFA’s decision to release Diarra from all legal obligations to Lokomotiv to be free to sign for Inter. In the mean time, Inter are asking prices and seeking availability of others just in case a good prospect opens up.
“Lassana Diarra, Lucas Leiva, or Paulinho: the Nerazzurri executives would bring at least one of these in Milan for the midfield of Mancini,” reports the network.

As for the midfielders I’m not very sure I know them well, I doubt Lucas Leiva would fit so so well I’m the team, Paulinho seems good and Diarra could be quite fit for Inter and Ausilio is a good scout which means that Lassana Diarra should be a good choice especially considering that he is free.
Our first option though should be Bruma of Galatasaray, I’m not very sure how come we haven’t scouted him yet, probably because Galatasaray are keeping the wonder-kid void of other scouts but it wouldn’t harm to check on him.

As for the midfield, I’d like Thiago Motta most of all (no matter what), or Paulinho under the condition that we sell at least one of Guarin/Kuzmanovic/Krhin/Obi. If we can’t sell, I’d go with Lassana if he’s free.

I have a simple question. Why we need another defensive midfielder, when we still have Medel, M’Vila, Khrin, Taider on loan and sometimes Kuzmanovic plays there? And doesn’t most important to look for creative midfielder, when we rely only on Kovacic and Hernanes?
because Medel, M’Vila, Khrin and Kuzmanovic don’t have the quality needed to play in Inter. Paulinho, Motta or Lass would be a boost in terms of quality and overall play.
nah medel has proven himself and mvila has been good the time hes played. kuzmanovic and khrin should go though
Shaqiri will be perfect fill the right flank and he is still 23 y/o. I will say Lass will be more possible option for us. On the other hand, the management need to rearrange how to manage the financial situation by sell some player or loan them.

I am so thrilled on how Inter make parallel reconstruction by reconstruct the management to challenge the FFP and build the team around youngster. Juan and Kovacic for the example, the value of Juan when we bought him is around 4 mil, and now his worth for 14 mil. Kovacic is another example, we bought him for around 11-12 mil and now he have been valued on 22 mil. According to Transfermark at least. 🙂
Kovacic is among 50 highest value players list. I cant recall his exact value but it’s more than vidal around 30m.

as much as i like motta seeing him back in inter jersey, i’d rather have paulinho in our squad. motta is just too old for us and can only stay for like a year. he’s already reached his peak.

On the other hand, there’s no guarantee Paulinho will ever be the same player.
Basically, the equation is this:
Thiago Motta
– Old (short term investment)
– we’ll have to pay something (probably loan + buy if we’re lucky, doubt we can get him only on loan at this age; so, direct buy if we’re not lucky 🙂 )
– we get quality for sure; stable all round midfielder
– has significant experience in Italy
– we get a LEADER. this guy’s a champion, he was part of our squad in 2010 and I was darn sad to see him go in the first place (I’d even give him the captain’s armband from next season)
– probably won’t be able to sell him, but he can finish his career with us and offer a helping hand even from the bench, in the dressing room alone
Paulinho
– Medium age, but young enough
– we’ll have to pay for sure (probably won’t get only a loan, loan + buy I guess)
– we don’t know if we are getting quality by signing him, so we’ll have to waste money on a hunch, that’s gambling right there
– has no experience in Italy
– we don’t know if we can sell him in the end, because I’m pretty sure no one will want him if he fails at Inter too. We’ll have to sell him back in Brazil for some ridiculous sum of money, probably after a long loan or something (similar to what we did with Pereira)
Diarra
– old
– free
– dubious quality – could turn out fine, but has been away from the pitch for a while
– has no experience in Italy
The best player of all these is certainly Motta, and he’s the only guarantee of quality (as you’ve noticed, we can’t really afford quality lately, and this will especially be the case if we splash the cash on Shaqiri). Why gamble on Paulinho when we can put in probably less money on Thiago Motta (if we can arrange his wages, which I think we can if Milan can do it) and get certain quality?
Also, imagine a starting midfield of Thiago Motta and Hernanes, with Medel on the bench to rotate with Thiago.
Shaqiri wants to play as a starter he said that several times, so I really think we win this race
I also think that inter will go for diarra, we dont have the money for poulinho or leiva.
