Sport Mediaset reports on the current situation in the Shaqiri negotiations.
“Bayern Munich has not yet responded to the offer of Inter in regards to Xherdan Shaqiri,” reveals the network. “There is still optimism for the success of the Nerazzurri negotiations. In this case, tomorrow could be a crucial day for the closing of the deal. Expect possible developments in the coming hours. But it certainly remains to be said that the club (Inter) has already reached an agreement with the Swiss player.”

Author’s note: Stalling? Waiting to see if there won’t be one last-gasp offer from Liverpool? The fact that Bayern has not replied is not dooming, although it is not ideal either. Either they don’t like the offer and are biding for time to see other offers, or are seriously considering it and preparing a final counter-offer, bonuses they wish tied on, etc. Maybe both. Probably both. They have not yet rejected the offer, and had they replied positively, the deal would have been completed today. Unless a reply comes in the next hour or two, expect the Inter leaders to wait until tomorrow to travel to Bavaria. Bayern flies to Doha, Qatar on Friday, January 9th and negotiations are aimed to be closed before then latest.
Comment your thoughts on the updates below.

I’m thinking tomorrow it has to close one way or the other – before they go to Doha.
U can actually bet on where shaqiri is going. They put Inter in front of the race with odds 1,6, liverpool 2nd odds 4 og juve odds 10. A credible english journalist also said that Inter is in front. Lets hope it goes our way. Forza Inter
Like I said, the will of the player won’t be decisive, the will of the club will. Just like in Cerci case.. If Bayern says you’re going to Liverpool or you’re not going anywere, what do you think Shaqiri will do.. And his preference for Inter is just media speculation, he never said it nor did his agent..
As soon as Inter found the agreement with the player, I thought to the Cerci, to the Lucas, to the Paulinho, etc etc etc deals. I hope this one wont be another. We’re definitely moving much more quickly here though.
I think that the Cerci deal was just unlucky circumstances in the sense that Atleti wanted Torres back and he wasn’t ours to give 😛 Also, they were a little pissed at the fact that we went straight to the player and not to them (they never said he was transfer listed, so it figures they’d be pissed).
As for Lucas and Paulinho, we got competition that was really impossible to beat, the offers outweighed our own heavily. Don’t think this will happen with Liverpool, because they already wasted tons of cash last summer to no avail, and now a winger is the least of their worries.
Things really seem on our side right now, I expect this deal to be closed tomorrow, before Bayern leave for Doha.
The will of the player will be decisive in the sense that it will lean Bayern to a certain direction. Bayern (presumably) don’t really care if they get the money tomorrow or next summer, because they won’t be spending it anytime soon anyway and they have money in abundance as it is (I’m guessing you heard they already paid off the stadium, 16 years ahead of schedule!).
And you’re right, Shaqiri hasn’t said anything in public, nor has his agent. But it’s logical to think that he will want Inter, because both clubs are in bad positions in their respective leagues at the moment, but Inter have the crucial advantage – guaranteeing that he will play (lets not forget that the lack of playing time is the reason he wants to leave Bayern in the first place).
Also, we’ve got Rumenigge in Bayern… I’m sure that if the boy wants Inter, and we’ve got Rumenigge there, and they’re in no hurry to get the money – they’ll at least ask Shaqiri where he wants to go (i.e. they will accept both offers and let the player decide).
The club has the final word if the offers make a difference to them (which, presumably, is not the case here) – then they can refuse one and take another. I think we’re closing this deal tomorrow.
It’s all down to who gives the better offer. If Liverpool offered couple millions more players will wouldn’t be decisive. No matter Rumenigge, Shaqiri or Mancini.. If Liverpool gives better offer he is going there, lets hope that doesn’t happen.
I think we will now everything tommorow or at least I’m hoping so because I’m tired of refreshing transfer portals every couple minutes.
But how much higher do you expect Liverpool to go than us under the circumstances? 🙂
They’ve got more than enough wingers as it is (Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho, Markovic, even Sturridge and Balotelli can play as wingers), Shaqiri is not an emergency to them, they need a striker more than they need a player like Shaqiri.
I know the best offer wins, but I don’t think anyone will go over 15 mil, and if we’ve offered the 15 mil to Bayern, they’ll let the player decide. Like I said, I’m expecting to see the breaking news tomorrow, this shit is wrapped up.
I don’t expect from them to give a bigger offer, I’m just saying what would happen.
It seems like, the only solution is to increase payment
I hope we can sell a player soon or at least have a few lined up to leave so that we can redirect those funds towards this deal. He’s worth at least 25 in my book. We’re also broke though.
Mahdi, i didn’t know Inter has economic problems. Tohir owns many clubs in indonesia, also a basketball team in NBA i guess. Is he really so poor , unable to pay 17 millions at once and finish the transfer? When arabs bought MC they immediately spent big money to make it one of the top teams in England. What is the problem with Tohir
it’s the FFP..u can’t buy player without sell
I’m hoping many players will leave next summer simply for the sake of having a more coherent group, things are starting to get a little crowdy in there, with lots of players undeserving to wear that shirt. We need to clean up the junk and get the standards back up, but investments like Poldi/Shaqiri are steps in the right direction. It takes time, but this team has been under construction for a while (Handanovic, JJ, Kovacic, Icardi, Hernanes etc. can all crystalize into a backbone of a fine team, and some even came in Moratti’s era). We just hit a few too many bumps (Schelottos and Kuzs) on the road.
Im sorry. But im sick with this shaqiri news. But I dont know why every minute I opened this website hahaha -___-“. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, and tomorrow and tomorrow again. Whatever the club that will get his sign, plis god let this shaqiri saga over. So we can move on to another target with no hurry. However, plis god, if shaqiri will not going to inter, replace him with lavezzi at least, not sinclair . :’)
I know mate, we all want it to be over with and know the outcome asap. But it was Inter’s objective to finish this today. But Bayern never replied, can’t rush or the entire thing could go up in smoke.
I dont really know if this will go… The Swedish and British media is reporting that Shaqiri and Bayern have a agreement with Liverpool…
