Javier Zanetti was present at the balon d’Or ceremony tonight and talked to Sky Sport about Inter’s moment, Osvaldo and a lot more but he of course started talking about the protagonist of the night, Cristiano Ronaldo:
“All three players deserved to win the award. As Argentinian I of course hope that Messi would’ve won, but with a Ronaldo like this it’s hard to win. I can only praise Real Madrid’s champion. Neuer would also have deserved it, but I’m happy for Cristiano. When an Inter player will win it? Hopefully very soon.”
Zanetti kept talking about Inter’s moment and the third place:
“In this moment we just need to think about building a team that will be able to return amongst the best and with Mancini this can be done. Third place? Today it’s to early to talk about it, there are many teams that are having this target and we will give everything to win the race for the third place. Andreolli? We’ll suspend and fine him for knocking Mancini out(laughs)”
At the end of the interview Zanetti talked about Osvaldo and Eto’o:
“Unfortunately this incident happened but the important thing is that he has understood his mistake. He excused himself with Icardi and the important thing is to have the same targets to return to the top. The doors for Pablo are open, he is still an Inter player and we need to look forward when there are problems like this. Eto’o? With us he did great things, now he wants to return to Italy. A return for him to the Serie A is very welcome.”
