“Decisive hours for the defender. Rhodolfo appears in pole position. Vida remains the alternative.”
Inter has been closing in on the two defenders in the last days and a move seems imminent for either of the two.

This is mancios way of saying that the players he has in defense is not good enough….i think that we will see a major overhaul of the defense….this is step one….players not needed are Nagatomo, Jonathan, dambrosio, campangaro, andreolli, Ranocchia and maybe Vidic if he doesn’t show that he’s adapting to Italian style of play.
Inter’s fullback should be strengthened not the central defender. Despite Ranocchia’s weak performance, we still have Vidic, Juan Jesus, Andreolli, campagnaro. The latest is played as a fullback by Mancini. If we bought a new full back, he can move to central defend. Inter current full back are more miserable than the central’s. Right now, only D’ambrosio is the first team full back. Jonathan injured and yet to prove his value to Mancini. Nagatomo has more value in marketing purpose to Inter rather than his defensive ability. While Dodo, in my opinion, I would like to see him play as a left winger instead of left full back. That will add our options on the flanks. If Iccardi is benched, Mancini can try to play Podolski as the striker and Dodo as the left winger.
Inter should used the remaining budget to buy at least one world class or has the world class potential full back. I wish that the club can snap another “Maicon”. He spent six years at Inter with 5 different managers and still kept his spot in the first team. It means the club didn’t have to spend for a new full back for quite sometime. In my opinion, the problem was when they hire a coach with a totally different system like Walter Mazzarri. I understood that the boards were interested when Antonio Conte’s successfull 3-5-2 with Juventus. They should have considered what if it wouldn’t work with Inter. A new system means new set of players are requiered. Whether they are new manager’s disciples or the current squad are not suitable to the manager’s philosophy. How many players have been replaced since 2010 treble? A well build club Chelsea should be the great example. Players like Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Petr Cech, even John Obi Mikel are the Club’s core player for almost a decade. The club just bought 2-3 players that were really brought the team to the next level. Since Roman era, the club have been fighting for league tittles and champions league participants (they were only absent once but eventfully won the Europa League).
I am not a Chelsea fan. I am an Interista since the team failed to win the serie a when Ronaldo’s penalty claim was denied during derby d’ italia. I don’t ask the new President to spend extravagantly, they are rebuilding the club from the scratch. It takes time and wise decision to run a historical club like Internazionale. They have made the right step in managing the transfer budget this winter. Salute to Mr Ausilio, Mancini and our beloved president Erick Thohir.

It’s ok. My main point is, Inter should buy a full back instead of those two defenders (rhodolfo and vida).

This situation reminds me to that Osvaldo’s. How many of us resisted him joining Inter just because he’s “old”. And now, we’re just reluctant to see him leave.

None of them. We have enough defenders to the end of the season and we’re not rich enough to spend our money for unnecessary, unproven players.
i’d choose vida. and in June we get Murillo ?
I would choose hundred times Juan, Vidic and Andreolli instead of Vida. And if it’s true that we’re secured Murillo for the summer we don’t need Vida at all, even it’s not Schar would be free agent this summer.
