‘Welcome back Davide Santon!’ the headline reads on Inter’s statement on the club’s official homepage.
After three and a half years the former Inter youth product returns back to where it all once started as the club released the following statement: “FC Internazionale is delighted to announce Davide Santon’s return to the club. The 24-year-old defender, who came through the Nerazzurri youth academy, joins on loan with an option to buy. We wish Davide the best of luck for his second spell in black and blue.”
I quite liked him when he was playing for us under Mou. Great potential and confidence, can be deployed on both flanks,and his game against Man U back in 2009 was definitely the most memorable performance when he shut down C. Ronaldo. But then he declined so badly under Benitez (like many others did…) and even became worse during the time when Leonardo took over (he pretty much lost all his confidence which led us to trade him with Nagatomo, then the rest is history) Now he is coming back at this critical time, I think the reason is (1) we really need a full back after the injuries of Nagatomo and D’ Armbosio (Obi and Donkor just don’t cut it) and there is a shortage in the current market at this price point, and (2) the club wants to show the youth team that there is a chance to come back, considering we are letting go Duncan, Krhin, and Bonazzoli in one transfer window…

well let me explain……Mazzarri averaged 1.45 points per game with almost nothing spent to upgrade this team……Mancini averages 1 point per game with plenty of investment made to improve this team. i’m a fan of soccer and I MISS MAZZARRI !! i miss his post-game interviews after a loss, i miss inter bitching about no pk’s or bad calls, i miss his 1.45 points per game and the fact that they spent 4 mill a season for mancini, spent more money on transfers yet have done worse than mazzarri ever did at inter!
