These are definitely hard times for Mauro Icardi, after his dispute with the Curva Nord at the Sassuolo game, he is returning to San Siro next Sunday against Palermo, but the fans will not be welcoming him this time, as Tuttosport reported today the words of the Curva Nord:
“If you approach the Curva with that look on your face of someone who does not give a shit and throws your jersey because you think by doing so everything is settled, then you have not understood anything, we care about this team from our heart, we want to be looked in the eye and told what’s wrong, if we liked you you get applause and encouragement despite what the result is, but if you lose with Sassuolo in this way, you take the insults and you go thinking about how much you have disappointed us and all Inter fans.”

To begin, I generally don’t like Icardi, his attitude doesn’t suit what Inter stands for. I also believe that no one player is bigger than the club. This statement from the curva is spot on. If I were him I would read this and take it to heart, and try to stand for something more than my own worth. Yes, he is a goal scorer, but he is also a selfish person. It seems that no good is going to come of this in anyway. Lets just get a positive result and move on with the team we have. FORZA INTER!
There are many reason why the Curva dosnt like Icardi, But I can say straight, the problems inter are suffering at the moment have alot to do with Icardi. they are there evry weekend in Italy, they know evrything whats happening even in the dressing room and of the field.

Exactly same thing that i’d like to say…
forza curva nord
One problem after another.. And we are doomed..
Its tough to be Interisti these days. But every team has its up and down. Soon, this misery will be over and we will be back where we belong..
“all inter fans”? Like, seriuosly? I’m on icardi side, i myself respect all the ultras, but after that accident, i kindly hope inter do what madrid do, you just dont respect player that help your lovely team a lot

I do respect Curva Nord for their commitment for Inter (travelling to away games, watching Inter game even with this shitty results etc) but this just disgust me. The boy did all he could ALONE this season and carried Inter all the way to 13th position. Without him, we would be battling with Parma and Cesena for relegation spot.
Well, he’s not the ONLY player who’s done well, but the fact remains that there aren’t many players as important as he is on the squad and that without his contribution we probably would have been much worse off.
What you’ve said kind of marginalizes what Handanovic, Kovacic and to a lesser extent, Juan Jesus have done this season. Just pinpointing the details 🙂
This season is so weird. There’s much more confrontation between players and supporter. I remembered when Juan have a confrontation with Inter fans through twitter not so long ago. Then, it comes the episode of Guarin and Icardi. Sure, in the past curva also have a confrontation with Ibrahimovic and Vieri for example. But still, this season is so weird to me.
I guess we should realize that Icardi still in the phase of improve, not in the phase where we can rely like Millito. When Millito came to Inter, he was good already in Genoa. While, Icardi still have so much space to improve. He’s just 21 years old, not 31 years old.
The boy has done more at 21 than Milito could dream of (at that age). Not making comparisons, but it’s pointless to discuss Mauro’s quality as a player. We really need to appreciate him because he brings us points AND he’s the player that can make us the most money this summer, and money is a resource we will terribly need, especially considering the fact we’re most likely out of Europe again and have a bunch of deals to settle.
I would sell him. Milito may not have been as good as he is at his age, but was a great profiessional dedicated to football and reached a level that, in my opinion, Icardi will never reach. He is more Balotelli, Adriano type of player. Let’s cash on him while we still can.
Whether or not we want Icardi to be sold is quite irrelevant, as he is leaving anyway at the end of the season, I’m very sure of it, I just wonder where he’s going and how much money we can get out of it.
If this weren’t imperative, my position on whether to sell him or not would depend on 2 things:
1. How much money we can get
2. Who we can bring in to replace him
Also, if we’re not in Europe next season, which I note will probably be the case, I don’t think our targets will be anywhere near as exciting as Shaqiri, or Icardi himself for that matter. It’s a step back for the club.
So far, I didn’t see that he make wrong path. I don’t know what happens in gossip magazine in Italy, but the only negative things that embedded with Icardi is the fact that he take his best friends wife. Which is a personal matters and irrelevant with football carer (in my opinion). Its just like the gossip that Cristiano Ronaldo break up with Iriana. lol
I totally agree with u.
curva nord used to be the back bone of Inter team, but since 2012 its been nothing but burden they are behind mazzari sacking, and the loss of our stars, you dont need to like Icardi you low expectation lewed bunch, but you better respect all players wearing the Inter Jersy, fans these days just demanding and oblivious understand nothing things are difficult why make them worse, we lost osvaldo for Icardi, now we will lose Icardi for the fans, we already lost Mazzari for the curva NURDS.. enough is enough .. its not gonna be long before Tohrir tell them where to shove it….i dont like Icardi as person .. but he got something a star quality he got what it takes to score goals…
The Curva are right to be frustrated. You can’t say the Curva have to respect all the players at all costs, because some of those players need to wake the fuck up or pack their bags and leave.
But they were wrong to target Icardi, because he’d done nothing wrong and what they did caused damage to the club’s interests.
if you dont love the players and respect them how do you expect to fire them up on the pitch… just put yourself there furstration is a BITCH and if your fans Treat you like shit you will not produce a winner, Icardi was rughed to his toes in Napoli’s game, he could have dont better for what so the the curve nurdes insult him again.. its none sense .. i am no fan of Icardi but it ain’t right
It ain’t right for him because he hasn’t disrespected the shirt. It is right for others who don’t seem to care for improving on the pitch. They remain anything but focused, slow and sloppy. Those deserve to be given notice that the fans don’t like that. It’s a basic control mechanism.
Are you seriously defending mazzari? And don’t you say mancinis results suck, mmazzari’s was inter’s coach for 1.5 years and show his true worth when he lost samuel and cambiasso, mancini needs time and nothing else… and I’ll give you one fact, out of the last 3 losses, only one was mancini’s fault
“show his true worth when he lost samuel and cambiasso” Are you kidding? Mazzari did some bad things, but loosing Walter and Chuchu is not one of them. He had nothing to do with it!
The strategy on the market was to build a new Inter, a team for the future, and both senators were old for this project.
i agree with that, i think he made few bad decisions but inter should stick to a coach, sir alex furegson made bad mistakes had few bad seasons, when he was first contracted with man united, but with time he left 25 years of wining everything a legacy no one will ever come close to, INTER need to stick to mancini now, if mancini accept to stay!! fans should be supportive not destructive
That’s a difficult thing to do in modern football mate. Mazzarri had to be let go, because the fans hated him if for nothing else. The man did a lot of things wrong and the team was showing no signs of progress after 1.5 seasons of his reign.
True, it was the higher management’s decision to set Cuchu loose, not Mazzarri’s.
After losing them, the team you saw in the beginning of the season was the result, and trust me if we had cambiasso in this season; we would have done something else
I don’t just trust you, but totally agree that with Cambiasso we would have a different team. A leader is missing on the field.
I am just saying that was not Mazzari’s fault.
yes defending Mazzari and Appreciating manicio though 3 losses in row hard to swallow, all coaches need support not war waged against them like the last days of Mazzari tenure in milan, the guy didnt say a word to the media though he was in my openion mistreated, Mazzari Loved Inter was a coach and was fan he left Napoli winning big bringing Napoli from nowwhere to almost winning the league, of course as long as juve continue buying their wins no one else can win the league but the old Madam of turin, so lets all congratulate the Old madam of Turin…
u don’t know what u r talking about cn support mazzari and the team until last minute but here i agree they got it wrong and icardi doesn’t deserve this
curva have lost track of what matters, they do not do things the right way, they are not under control like they used to be, I KNOW exactly what i am talking about about, people who hate maser are not with us, i am season ticket holder i follow inter every where they go i bleed the colors of the team, i have seen how the curve richened their anger and direct it all towards Mazzari! i am still happy the mancini is back but i am very unhappy with the curve effect on our team, don’t look further than Icardi’s incident, he doesn’t need a threatening letter as such, he needed an apology
Yet Curva reacted the opposite of what they are saying. Icardi scored a goal on his own after he exploited a mistake and generally played a decent game, and they rewarded him by bursting into anger towards him because he was the only one there with Guarin. While Icardi is stubborn and has a special personality, it was IMO reasonable that he got mad after he scored a goal, did his best, didn’t cause the defeat and in the end, they throw his jersey back.
Exactly, he basically suffered the consequences of trying to make peace with an angry mob. And angry mobs are rarely rational.
Except that it wasn’t HIM that disappointed the team and the fans in that game. And, seriously “with that look on your face”. What are you, a group of psychologists up there?
It still remains the case that the Curva had every right to be angry with the team, but their reaction was misdirected and shouldn’t have caught Icardi alone, but the team in general (in which case Mauro too, would have felt the pressure). It wasn’t fair, nor was it pragmatic considering the predicament we’re in and how important his imminent sale will be for the club.
