Trentino Team-Inter amichevole

Andrea Ranocchia was the player that accompanied coach Roberto Mancini at the press conference in Glasgow the evening before the Europa League match against Celtic. Below are the words of the Inter captain.

How has your return to Europe been after the elimination against Tottenham?
“For me it is very important, these are the games that develop the players. It is the in or out matches that are also needed to grow, especially for younger players. Then, playing in a stadium like this is something special, a great experience.”

How do you feel physically, considering your knee?
“I’m fine, and I am available as in recent games, there are no worries. I’m fine both mentally and physically.”

You said that you feel good, also mentally: does that mean that you are getting more of a ‘mean streak’?
“I stressed mentally because this season I have often been critcised, but I repeat that I feel good mentally. I have grown and have been here for four years, wearing the captain’s armband and I am ready to face the next matches. The press and media question me, but I’m getting better with the help of the coach.”

Will the local atmosphere mean more pressure or motivation?
“The famous final, frankly, I don’t hear much of it because it’s been so long. We do, however, feel the match, but there will be no pressure, but positive adrenaline. Just what we must have in the sport, tomorrow will be a great football game.”
