1960’s Grande Inter star Luis Suarez has been urging Inter to keep hold of in-form striker Mauro Icardi in an interview with TMW(Tuttomercatoweb).
“Having a player like Icardi in the team guarantees goals.”
“If Inter have any hope of getting back to winning ways they need Icardi to remain at the club.”
“Having a striker like him in front of goal is very important for the team. Inter must make an economic effort to convince him definitively.”
“In the Summer there will be many offers for him, but a team like Inter, if they want to get back to winning can’t sell him.”
Suarez may get his wish after it was claimed earlier today in Italy that Icardi could be ready to sign a 4 year contract at the club.

Inter still needs to trim the squad. But not the in-form players. That would be suicide and Thohir knows this better than anyone.
The point is Icardi guarantees goals, at least if he leave we neet to make sure to replace him wih the same type player that also guarantees goals… And please, i hate if we once again related to another Vucinic…
Icardi was the best young striker at the moment..
This guy was a steal and who knows what we’ll bring in after him! Keep him
Don’t mind selling him but not for less than 40-50 mil
and who are we going to spend that 50 million on?
Selling pogba for 200mil won’t do juve much good over selling him for 90million. clubs will know they’re looking for a replacement and inflate all their midfielders’ prices. same situation here-just slightly smaller figures involved
For the 50 mil u can pay for Shaqiri, Dodo and Murillo plus some other players and for strikers you can promote Puscas or get Vietto from Villareal or you can always turn to Brazilian or Argentine league. They got the best in form strikers for much cheaper.
yeh and those strikers are not proven in europe. they may flop over here. shaqiri and dodo we have to buy anyway. selling icardi wouldn’t strengthen the side-it would just pay their full fees and his absence would weaken the side. Meanwhile Murillo will arrive for free.
Most of the time Icardi is playing as a lone striker waiting for balls, the only thing he needs to do is score which anyone would in front of the goal, for gods sake even Maccarone from Empoli have 7 or 8 goals lol
and 7=icardi’s 14? no… not everyone can score from those positions and not everyone can even get into those positions. we can’t replace icardi without really suffering for a season or 2 while someone acclimatises.
keep him as long as we can, til big offers coming ^_^
he should stay for a long time And we must sell dead wood not our best players if we want to get back to top.I beleave and Thohirs words so Icardi will stay
Is it really tying him down, though, getting him to sign a new contract?
I’m not convinced, still expect him to leave when other clubs start flashing the cash to Thohir this summer.
You might be right, but I think it could at least make his price higher by sending the signal that we’re financially able to keep him, and intend on doing so. I really hope we keep him.
Absolutely, same here, I want him to stay.
if there no buyout clause it is kind of tying him down. unless he starts playing up to gain a transfer i guess 🙁
I just can’t shake the fuss the media have been causing that we’re bound to sell him without the CL (and there will be no CL, obviously). Think we’ll be forced to sell him, don’t believe anyone really wants him to go. Apart from that, he’s already tied down anyway, still has a long way to go till his contract runs out. 🙂
Will be a fun, turbulent summer at Inter. I love those.
