After Nemanja Vidic’s fallout with Roberto Mancini during Inter’s Europa League match against Celtic, the defender’s future at Inter came into question once again. The Daily Express reports that Vidic is Manchester United’s defensive alternative to Marquinos and Mats Hummels. The Red Devils are in dire need of a defensive overhaul this summer due to their defensive problems so far this season. Inter’s lack of faith in Vidic can easily be seen, as the Nerazzurri are currently deciding whether or not to sign free agent Felipe. However, Vidic played against Cagliari and could make an appearance against Celtic tomorrow.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves. He’s shown little since he’s arrived, he’s very unstable and lacks continuity, and still is one of the highest paid players on the squad.
I doubt Mancini will want to rely on him next season, I’d understand if he wants to sell him and reinvest the saved wages in someone else besides Murillo. I hope we could also get rid of Ranocchia, though 😛
Come on macedonian. What are you talking about? Give me one better cb on our squad. He is 33 but still the best cb in inter. How can you have continuity without playing? You dont see our defence is 100 times better with Vidic and without Ranocchia. Haha.
God forbid that we get stuck with Ranocchia. I prefer Vidic over him even at the age of 40.
I hope we get the chance to see a lot more of Vidic until the end of this season so that we can judge him after a prolonged period of starting games. But from what I’ve seen so far, I’m not convinced enough to keep him; he’s getting old, he’s got fitness problems and the wages we’re paying him are too big for a player that doesn’t regularly contribute.
I could be convinced otherwise before the season ends, personally, but right now I’m thinking we should sell both and get new blood, per Mancio’s choice.
