Inter’s Swiss playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri spoke to Swiss newspaper Daily Record ahaead of tonight’s return leg in the second round of the Europa League at the San Siro.

“We made several mistakes against Celtic which we won’t repeat in Italy. We thought we’d already won the game so we didn’t show Celtic the respect they deserve. If we were to score 2, 3 or even 4 goals at home we’ll have to remain concentrated throughout the match.”

“It was a shame that we gave away a 2 goal lead but the manager told us that a 3-3 draw away from home is not a bad result. Teams like Barcelona have lost there only recently so in that light a 3-3 draw isn’t a poor result. Scoring 3 goals away from home is always a positive thing but to draw in the 94th minute after having come back from 2 goals down gave them a lot of confidence, so they will come to Italy confident of scoring.”

“We respect Celtic but I still have the same opinion I did before we played them, I still think we’re technically superior to them. Playing in front of our fans will remind us that we can’t allow ourselves to be distracted in any way and I’m still fully convinced that we’ll go through to the second round” Shaqiri stated.
