The Portugese legend has confirmed that he was trying to bring the Chilean to Inter Milan back when he played for Udinese.
Alexis Sanchez departed the Serie A in 2011 for Barcelona before moving in summer of 2014 to Arsenal for £35million.
Figo told Radio Cooperativa: “I remember Alexis, I tried to take him to Inter when I was a coach at the club.”
He also spoke about how Alexis could have remained in Serie A, if he had got him to transfer to Inter Milan. He praised Sanchez’s fellow Chilean compatriot Arturo Vidal as well. “Sanchez and Arturo Vidal are the two columns of the Chile team.”
