Joachim Löw defended his choice of calling Lukas Podolski as a part of the German national team. The coach talked about the decision on the press conference before the game against Australia saying the following things:
“I have no reason to doubt Podolski’s qualities because I know about his physical capacity. Lukas has always given everything he has and has always played with his heart, this is very important for me.”

I honestly don’t see him giving 100%. I don’t see him running a lot. Most times he is jogging around the pitch, he doesn’t fight hard for the ball… I don’t doubt his quality, but I am not sure he is committed to the club. I have the feeling that he thinks this is a 6 months gig and after that he is going somewhere else, so it is better to play safe to avoid injuries
what the fuck are you people talking. he needs time to adapt. he is almost 30, has been in the bench for too long and a new player for this league. of course he will needs time to gel. look at vidic for fuckin sake
I don’t understand your point…brozovic is a new player as well and he’s looking like a serie a player who played for years in the league…Podolski was given alot of time and all we ever get is glimpses…a few shots but with no luck however there isn’t much time for him to get it right. He wad given a half of season to impress and has nothing next to his name unless of course it’s an @ sign or hashtag for twitter.
as i said he is almost 30, coming here after had a lot of time on bench. that means he had triple disadvantages of age, new style, time on pitch than the other 3 new recruits. he needs to regain his touch on the game, adapt to the team and the league, and during his time he never played in a team and league like this one. many good players had terrible time to adapt to serie a . and we’re demanding someone who never even once taste it and having all his time before playing in a faster more space league to change and adapt to this new surrounding in an instant. for me that glimpses shows he still has something up his sleeve. just be fucking patient and don’t think everything will be change in an instant. it’s not like we sign him with huge money after all
He was actually great in his debut against juve. He plays like shit now :/
The only time podolski showed glimpses of his quality was when jochaim low was on the stands. Podolski is really pissing me off!!!
