Inter have identified Matteo Darmian as their top fullback target. La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Darmian’s price is quite high. Urbano Cairo wants 20 million for the Italian, but Inter want to offer the second half of Marco Benassi as part of the deal for Darmian. Torino are also interested in Inter talent Gaston Camara, and the Nerazzurri might use the youngster as bait to get Darmian. The race for Darmian is very tight as Bayern are also interested in the Torino man.

Do you really believe Murillo is our immediate answer at center back? Despite the typical rose-colored fanfare amongst our fans, he is a long shot to make it to that level. He is a very expensive gamble. Our fans have a sorry habit of overrating our acquisitions, every mercato without fail, only to be left disappointed. It is more likely than not that Murillo will reaffirm this tradition.
And f**k me, Juan is not a full back, despite your wishful thinking. It is desperately clear that we clack quality on the flanks. A full back that is solid enough defensively, with the ability to take on his opponent, provide a link in the distributive chain along our midfield, and deliver a decent cross is needed. Santon has been adequate. We need another, if not two more.
However I agree that Schar would be an excellent option for the defense. Although I think we might have missed the boat. Again poor strategy in overlooking the sure thing Schar at around 5mil only to spend upwards of 8 mil on the speculative Murillo who has never played in Europe.

Cairo must be delusional is he believes that Damian worth 20 million euros. We can’t afford to spend 10 million for left back, what about more. It’s important to understand for what flank we want Damian, because he can cover both? If it’s for the left, we have Santon who preformed good until now, Dodo, Nagatomo, D’Ambrosio and even Juan if it’s needed. For the right it’s almost the same we have D’Ambrosio, Santon and Nagatomo. If we will look for a full backs we must first get rid of those that we have now. Doesn’t have to mention that we have a way bigger problems in other positions central defender, defensive midfielder, creative midfielder, wingers, even forward. And we finally have to stop sacrifice our talented youngsters. We will let go Camara before we give him a chance to show what can give, for a player who’s not so important for us.

A very good deal… better a proven Full Back than a young player that needs at least 3 years to grow into a fine player – and instead of having camara as a benchwarmer for the next few years, we can buy another striker (who’s already proven)

I’d go for it, to be honest.
We need a good full back, and Darmian is quite decent, with a chance of becoming much more than that. He also plays for the national team.
On the other hand, we don’t really know how good Camara will be, and we’ve had so many “would-be-the-next-Maradona”s that haven’t really grown into good players and were ultimately sold for some ridiculous price.
Camara certainly won’t grow into a fine player at Inter, since there’s too much pressure and he’s not ready yet. I’m not even sure if Darmian is up to the challenge.
I also think that the price will ultimately be less than 20 million, which is too much.
