Jeremy Toulalan has today renewed his contract with French club Monaco until 2017, ending Inter’s interest in a free transfer this Summer.
These are the midfielder’s words:
“I came here to go as high as possible, which we achieved in the first season in getting to the Champions League final. Also this year we are doing quite well and are in the quarter-finals. It’s a great adventure and we must continue. I will try to help the young players to be better and as powerful as possible.”

We NEED a deep-lying midfielder with the capacity to distribute the ball effectively from deep. Options are short in this department. Toulalan was perhaps the most appropriate option given the low costs involved and his experience, not to mention his obvious quality. Who would you propose?
I’m positive that Toulalan wouldn’t be much of an improvement over Medel. Medel had some great passes lately, in style of Kovačič, while he still does the defensive job. I can’t see an upgrade from Medel by bringing Toulalan.
