Gazzetta dello Sport reports in today’s paper that talks between Inter and Samir Handanovic regarding an extension of the Slovenian goalkeepers contract are continuing.
According to the Milano-based paper, a month ago Inter offered Handanovic € 2,7 million until June 2019, which is a substantial raise to his current € 2 million plus bonuses. Handanovic’s entourage have made a counter-offer of € 3 million but the money isn’t what’s on the goalkeeper’s mind as he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Gazzetta reports that here Mancini is expected to play a pivotal role in convincing Handanovic to stay, the same way he managed to convince Shaqiri and Podolski to choose Inter despite fierce competition from other clubs. Mancini expects Inter not to participate in Europe next season which means that he will be able to focus all attention to the Serie A in order to finish in the top 3, which is why he made the statement that Inter will be fighting for the scouted next season.

Just give him what he wants for gs!!!
scudetto* but yeaaaaa Mancini will bring in a big name in Cech if Handanovic refuses… hope he resigns
And people say mancini can’t convince big players
All that people said, is that every coach’s main job is to train, prepare and develop the team and achieving results. If Mancini think that he’s good on convincing players, it’s time to look for free sporting director spot somewhere.
I really don’t like this argument T.T mancini isn’t perfect nor is he what inter need to win titles but he is what inter needs to build a team…. thats my opinion…
Mancini is definetly not the one Inter needs. he was available in november, but for the right price Thohir could land a better one. him and building a team? he never did that! all he had to do is pick some players from the catalogue while the current president paid shitload of money for them
and technically he didn’t convince Handa yet, neither any “big” players. Shaqiri had to choose between Bayern’s bench, a fierce competition at Liverpool (Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Markovic) and a guaranteed starting spot at Inter. wow
All I meant is that he has a history of signing great players. That’s all.
I really think you don’t understand. Ausilio is the guy, who supposed to sign good players with limited resources that we have. And i think that he’s doing very good job. Mancini’s responsibilities are different and for now he fails miserably.
Lol I do understand that… but he does have a part to play in the signings… we can’t deny that
the problem is there is no worldclass coach want this job.. even morinho run away after the treble.. so mancini is the best for us to bulid the team now..
3 million salary is a bargain for a GK of his quality, he could easily get double that at half PL clubs. Its amazing that we managed to hold him for so long on 2 million.
