Evaristo Beccalossi has been speaking on Inter Channel’s Radio Inter programme this afternoon on what an Interista feels in the build up to Inter vs AC Milan.

The ex Nerazzurri midfielder who played 216 games and scored 37 goals during a six year spell during the 1970’s and 1980’s has lived through many derbies and knows what they’re all about.

“When I was a player I would start getting excited about the derby a week before. I used to dream of the packed San Siro.”

“Inter vs AC Milan is one of a kind. No other game is capable of stirring up quite the same feelings. With a packed stadium of Inter fans cheering the team on, you have to be prepared, focused and fired up. The mental side makes all the difference.”

The 1979/80 Scudetto winner went on to underline his confidence in Inter and in coach Roberto Mancini.

“I’m sure Inter will be competitive next season. Mancini is an experienced coach and with the club behind him he’ll be able to put together a great team.”
