I won’t be surprised if coward Mancini choose to start with Campagnaro, Ranocchia, Vidic, Juan, Andreolli and Felipe, just because his mindset is playing not to lose. He ruined the season and still is afraid to play offensively in the Derby looking for a victory, that will give a little pleasure to the fans.
Too bad Kovacic can’t play with Mancini scheme. Coutinho 2.0. Better sell this boy with huge offer. He is regista. I think Inter should offer him to Barca with Pedro + cash. Really, too bad Inter choose Mancini than Kovacic.
Man you have to have patience with some of the younger players… They need to mature and understand LIFE. Kovacic still looks like mommy’s boy, protected and spoiled by everyone. He just needs to MAN up! Think about Lampard or Gerrard – nobody knew about them until they were 25-26 years old!
Kovačič is non existant for Mancini as it seems. What a shame really…He is at a point where he is considering a primavera player with almost 0 experience over Kovačič…
If Kovacic doesn’t start this match he will leave. especially that Obi and an academy player are being considered over him, Guarin and Brozovic both being suspended and this being a derby where he can prove himself makes this the perfect opportunity for him. I hope he gets picked over Hernanes or any of the other midfielders.
You people keep saying that Kovacic is shit, you must have forgot all the amazing games that he has played for us, he is a huge talent and we can’t afford to lose him. look at Coutinho at Liverpool now ffs.
Coaches don’t pick pick players soley on ability, it should be according to form and type of player needed for this match. Hernanes whose is in such a good form, he should not by any means be out of the starting eleven. Kovacic is currently In bad form, he should not start a big match like this one, instead should come in early second half because he still lacks that aggressivenss which this derby needs, so in a sense he should not come in when opposing players are full of energy as kova current form would result him losing the ball and not push forward. And please do not base a player leaving a team because of not starting a single match, that’s actually disrespectful to kovacic, he is a mature player and probably is aware of his current difficulties his facing.
Can u explain why Rano and Guarin is always starter. My mind is so confuse with Mancini logic.
Rannocchia is the teams captain (despite my and your(I assume) disapproval of him being captain) of such a thing it would seem to be unfit and unrealistic for him not to start because it would create a confusing atmosphere in the team which is not really the time given the current teams position.. guarin showed glimpses of masterclass performance with mancini at the beginning but then lost it again due to his inconsistency.. What mancini likes about guarin is that he attempts to push the ball forward and you see actual movement in the team, ok he might lose the ball shoot birds (which frustrates me as every interista) but he see a player with movement and is not lazy like kovacic.. To be honest if kovacic has the bravery and aggressiveness guarin has to push the ball forward without being afraid of making mistakes, he would be the ultimate midfielder.. But the problem with kova hes afraid to make mistakes and he would certainly not develop his skills if he doesn’t understand that mistakes are made to be learned from.
We don’t care what Mancini likes about Guarin, Ranocchia or Carrizo! All we care is that we’re 10th in Serie A and last night Napoli crushed Wolfsburg with four goals away, if you like that or you’re satisfied with Mancini’s work it’s your problem. If you still don’t think that Mancini made too many mistakes, including the way he treated Kovacic, it’s your problem again. I wrote that, but I’ll repeat it, despite we were playing with Medel, Guarin and Brozovic, who’s supposed to be good in defense, we lost and draw many times, conceding so many goals. I just answered ignatius Benny by his need to understand “mancini logic” in using “rannocchia and guarin” and he seems to care about what Mancini thinks by asking me and thats why I answered. In addition, to answer the question I have to state what mancini thinks of the players he asked about and I provided reasons on the issues kovacic is having and what he lacks and how he can improve.. I didn’t say I completely approve of the way he treated kovacic, yes I found reasons on why he benched him but It does not mean I fully approve, if you want my opinion with the current inter team have and what formation should be used but in the absolute best form for each player it would be with a 4-2-3-1:
handa; santon rannocchia jj D’ambrosio; medel brozovic; palacio kovacic shaqiri; icardi
But for this match specifically he should come on in the second half, so mancini can put him in a suitable position that he can improve and his skills will certainly allow him to adapt to the game and I don’t want his confidence to be crushed even lower as when with mazzari and he put him to play against juve and that affected him psychologically. So yes I will repeat this for the millionth time I love kovacic but he needs to push himself and have confidence in himself , I didn’t say he lacks ability or skills or whatever .. What he lacks is the approach to the game and the will to go forward that’s nothing to do with skills or ability. It’s to do with his approach to the game for him to be the best he can be.

I’m all in for playing youngsters, Kovacic IS a young talent and has more experience than any of our primavera players. I think he could utilize this match to show us and Mancini that he has what it takes to be in the starting 11.
I know he just signed an extension and is probably unlikely to leave but as you can probably tell from my username I just love the kid and would be absolutely heartbroken if he leaves the club just to see him become a star somewhere else.
Hernanes is our best cm.
