Roberto Mancini left the following comments to Sky after the game:”I comfort myself by looking at the way we played, we tried to win but we didn’t succeed. Milan defended well and they were lucky, when that happens there’s not much you can do. This year is like that, let’s hope that next year is different. The bad luck, the penalties not given, let’s hope they fall to our favour next season. The players did everything they could. We suffered a bit when Milan attacked on the break, at half time I told Mateo that he was too slow when covering up his wing, we had to back off a little and Milan won some ground. Juan Jesus also made an unintelligent tackle and I told him so. Kovacic had a good game in my opinion, when you are as young as he is you need to understand where to go on the pitch, when to stop, when to take your time, it will take a while to learn. I think that he is a mezzala, but he is good enough to play any role in midfield.
A head coach who arrives in november will have some difficulties, he takes over a team that he doesn’t know too well, errors will be made but I thought I would have 6-7 points more than we have at this stage and be able to fight for third place. My own mistakes and those of the team have forced us to understand a few things, and then we have lost some absurd games because of bad luck, we could have been up there. If I am satisfied right now? For me the penalty on Hernanes was clear, last Sunday the referee had no problems seeing the penalty for Verona, you have to understand what people talk about at work on Monday mornings, now it’s better to go home and rest because to do otherwise doesn’t help anyone. I have not said anything until now but tonight I can’t keep quiet. The own goal was correctly disallowed, but the penalty…”.

Kova is more of a DLP to me rather than a inside forward
Milan did nothing in the 2nd half yet Mancini didn’t risk to bring in another attacking player… well played, mr. x
seems like one of best inter performance under him. yet that still wasn’t enough since the team as usual wasting chances after chances. and it’s interesting to see how next match would be since having a good game was never this team problem in the first place but having good games on a weekly basis was. not to mention mancini’s golden boy will be back again next match. interesting to see how the line up will be with guaro and bro came back from suspension while kova and gnoukouri was pretty decent in these game
Im quite suprised that Inter played such a high tempo very early. Good showing, probably to suppressed Milan from controlling the match. But yet again, lack in finishing and some poor referring played it 0-0. And Inter cannot played like this too much every season, the players get tired and began to be sloopy in the 2nd half. Happy thay Gnoukori had a good debut and Obi did well as sub.
Is it Mezzala is an inside attacker?
and finally Mancio realize what is Kovacic.
mezzala, outside midfielder in 3-line midfielder that’s not a winger. think about iniesta.
I see.. I try to google it, and it comes as inside attacker. Thanks a lot! 🙂
It seems the lack of cheering in the stadiums also affected inter players… today the atmosphere was beautiful and it truely made us try unlike other games where we sit back and take it
He should’ve thrown another attacker after that disallowed goal. We had momentum. Milan did not do anything dangerous on the 2nd half tbh.
