The Italian sports pages have begun to stream out and they have taken some time to reflect on some of the things happening in Nerazzurri world. First, La Gazetta dello Sport reports that Thohir will try to make an assault for Yaya Toure. The president met with Mancini for two hours today and it is said that he is ready to make a move in for the Ivorian. Moreover, the paper seems to believe that Icardi will complete the renewal of his contract with Inter. In addition to this, Dybala has also reflected on his desire to play with Pirlo and remain in Italy, while the Argentinian coach is said to have paid him a visit.
Next, the Corriere dello Sport has reported on the positive words that Toure has given to Inter coach Roberto Mancini. The Ivorian reflected on his previous time under Mancini saying: “At City he was an extraordinary coach.”

We’d basically be giving away Kovacic to get Toure – which is ultimately a bad idea.
Toure is a fantastic player, one of the best in the world in his position and one of my personal favorites – but the man is 31, and will be 32 before he arrives. He will have wages higher than Mateo’s and his resell value will probably be much, much smaller than the one we’d buy him at. Not to mention the fact that we cannot be sure how long he can keep up going, considering that he is a player who is quite dependent on his physical qualities.
I’m okay with getting Toure, we need a leader in our midfield (if this wasn’t the case I’d prefer Allan from Udinese), but don’t give Mateo away, for heaven’s sake… I’d love to see Toure, Brozovic and Kovacic in midfield next season. Toure is complete, Brozovic is the hard worker and Kovacic is the creative genius.
At least we both agree Guarin should not be here next season 😀 I always thought we are selling Guarin+Kuz and we get Yaya [strong build] as an upgrade. If Tource forces his way out [remember Tevez case?] I think we can get him for a fair price. Kova needs good players around to grow, I hope we keep Icardi+Kova.
OMG! His annual salary is equal to the money we paid for Shaq!!!
What the hell ????? GET FEKIR FOR FUCK SAKE !
Can someone explain to me how we can afford Yaya’s salary ??
He said he wants a new challenged and labeled Mancini as his MENTOR. His agent said the money is not important for Yaya (he already made millions, he is very rich). I believe there is no greater challenge than INTER and he is welcome here with a realistic wage cut. He also knows the situation here, but I believe he wants to play in Serie A for his CV.
klopp will be perfect at inter
Yaya Toure Salary is: 15 million USD / Year
Yes, because Man City have no tradition or great history, they could only attract big players like that. He said he wants a new challenged and labeled Mancini as his MENTOR. His agent said the money is not important for Yaya (he already made millions, he is very rich). I believe there is no greater challenge than INTER and he is welcome here with a realistic wage cut.
And you believe that Yaya Toure, who have not so many years in front of him to earn big money, will reduce his salary from 14 million euro to 4 million? Because our biggest salary is under 4 million!
Well he’s rich already! I’m not sure if 4m, but everyone accepts that he’s world class so he could be given 6m in the 1st year and then gradually coming down towards 3-4m in his final years of contract. His agent said money is not important for him – and after earning so much, I believe him LOL.
wish he’d met with Klopp instead…
Oh FFS would you just piss off? You know why Inter is in 10th? You know why the players play like headless chickens? Because we change coach every single season.
You have to stick with the manager for a few seasons, Mancini is very different than Mazzari and that switch of tactics has a result on the players. Kicking Mancini would be the dumbest decision, we’ll stay mid table forever if we keep changing the manager every year.
yeah i know there’s an excuse for everything but it won’t change the fact what a shitty manager he is, his career after Inter tells everything
Zselic – wow that’s kinda harsh. I’m surprised to see you are so convinced Mancini is not good for our project and rebuilding the team. I usually agree with your opinions so I’m asking you politely:
1) Why are you against him?
2) Who would you bring (realistic, not Mou/Simeone/Klopp) – maybe Bielsa?!
I can see that Mancini is not the greatest tactician, maybe even Strama reads the game better and adapts. Mancini showed his limits in the UCL phases with the Scudetto winning team… struggled in the knock-out phase and makes dumb substitutions at times (not talking about line-ups lol).
BUT I also believe INTER needs to smartly reconstruct with a person that sees potential ability and current ability of players. Scout is not enough, the manager has to agree and implement them. Just like a DJ – picks goods songs and blends them together for a nice mix. Mancini has a good eye for talent and can lure names such as Shaqiri and Yaya Toure!
Well, i still remember his 1st spell at Inter, and his major skill was to bring in every world-class attackers we had from the bench when things went bad during a game, and hope they deliver – and most of the time they did
The main reason i am againts him is because he failed basicly everywhere but Inter (and as i said many times, after the Calciopoli it was not that big of a deal to become champion with Inter), but that Inter was very different. He never had to build up a team from its scratch without serious money, all he had to do is open the ‘catalogue’ and pick a few players he liked, and right now Inter doesn’t have that financial background. we need a fresh pair of eyes, a new vision for a brand new Inter (just like what Thohir started in the managemnt, which is great imo) – and Mancini is everything but up-to-date.
Then there’s the things you mentioned, fucked up subs, playing players out of their position (Herna, Kova, Campagnaro, JJ just to name a few), overusing out of form Palacio, etc. Also, at a season like this, when everything’s gone a coach would give REGULAR playing time to the youngsters, let them show if they have what it takes to be at Inter or not
I’d try to persuade (with certain promises AND a big check) Klopp, but Bielsa, Lopetegui or De Boer would be a very good choice for a project like this (if i were Thohir i’d rather spend a serious sum on Klopp’s salary than use it for mediocre benchwarmer’s paycheck)
for your last sentence, i think RESULTS attract players, Mancini could bring over the whole City squad, HE could not make it work
You read my thoughts! You can’t express it better. We don’t have oil wells and we can’t spend like Manchester City, PSG, etc. Other way to get back to the biggest clubs in Europe is patiently, building around young talents we have Icardi, Shaqiri, Kovacic, Santon, Brozovic, Juan. But Mancini it’s not a builder, he can’t develop young players. Despite i don’t like him and I’m sure that he’s not the right guy, i think that we have to give him last chance. We can’t change coaches so frequently. But he can be fired anytime, if next season continues to fail and in that case he doesn’t deserve to be involved in our summer mercato. Ausilio and management have to decide who will fit in our long time project and Mancini’s requirements have to be only to train and prepare the team. If he’s not satisfied, he’s free to leave.
Thanks for the reply. I have to admit I was worried when Mancini stated a few weeks ago that “INTER job was more difficult than I thought” – it seems that he came from cloud 9. A dreamer. He seems more layed back [relaxed and enlightened] after the Premier League experience and hopefully he improved his knowledge, because it seems that we will stick to him… After all, we want to win the League at some point, not become an Arsenal type of club… It’s pretentious but more rewarding. But I really don’t like how Mancini handled the Osvaldo saga – our club lost a good determined forward – but I guess he wanted to make a “statement”…
Mancini played and TRIED players out of position – I have to admit. This season was sacrified so he can experiment and get a better grip on the squad. He should already have a clear idea what moves he’s gonna do in the summer by now.
Mancini also said if he feels he can’t help Inter, he will step aside – well, after 6 months of mostly miserable performances i think it is safe to say he can’t help. IF the performance and the way Inter plays would be good only the results were missing, i’d say yeah, let’s give him another chance, but none of us can be satisfied -apart from 3-4 games- that Inter showed any ‘Mancini-signature’ on the field
not to mention he’d been called Mr. X for a reason, and the game againts Milan was a perfect example – againts an impotent Milan he didn’t have the guts to bring on more forwards/attacking players rather settled for the draw. he would rather go for 1 point than take a risk for 3, and let’s be honest, our season’s long gone, there’s no point to play safe. but hey, that’s how he’s been through his entire career…
Please not toure, he is old and high price…
Are you crazy, what about Pirlo, Lampard, Gerard, Iniesta – Yaya is one of the best mid in the wolrd age at this position is not so importment!
Some ppl dont know anything about football lol
He is a little old yeah but he can play for at least five consecutive years at first degree according to his form and physical fitness and dont forget that if we can get him, We are so lucky mate
