I think Ancelotti is the right person. He built great teams and always won something and was pragmatic. According to his biography he loved Inter. Maybe I am being delusional but I think Ancelloti can fix Inter. I am quoting some snippets about Inter in his interviews:

Hey clearly messed up. We were capable of dominating the midfield and solid defense until he switched to the 352. Allegri brought Pogba on which forced Mancini to go wide. Then Mancini gave up the midfield when he subbed brozovic for poldolski. Not only did this destroy the midfield but his trident was very predictable. He probably realized this and brought gnoukouri on for rano. Too late Handanovic had already lost for us.
He had balls to go 3-5-2 where both wingers played like in formation 4-3-3, so he went full attack mode, because we needed a goal. And the only reason we conceded because of that is Handanovič made an error. And if you really think we had a solid defense until then, then I don’t know what you have been watching.

He switched formation to 3-5-2, where D’Ambrosio and Nagatomo played as offensive wingers, so basically he went full attack. How is that him being a coward? And who would you sub that he would make impact? Obi? Kuzmanovič?
Doesn’t matter what he switched, because when you getting out attacking player and put in player who’s natural position is as a full back, this can’t be offensive substitution. This is not first time when we desperately needed win and Mancini makes such a substitutions, which shows his mentality. If he wanted to switch with three at the back, but making us more offensive seeking for a win, he clearly could get out D’Ambrosio and put in midfielder or even attacker, it’s not so scary. When you need a win at all costs, you have to take some risks. Doesn’t have to mention, that Brozovic and Palacio begging for substitution with their play, but obviously he doesn’t see it.
Who would he put in? We had a horrible bench. And Nagatomo is primarily a LM for some time, and its well known that attacking was his better part than defending.

Our best fullback who can be dangerous in attack Santon is benched and due to the fact that JJ and D’Ambrosio are worthless in attack Inter is playing without support on the flanks in offense. And then when we really need to get a goal instead of replacing those worthless fullbacks Mancini subs Shaqiri? Yes, Medel, Vidic and Handanovic screwed up, but if our offense was good enough it wouldn’t have mattered. In every home game we have a lot of possession but we don’t create any dangerous chances, even against Parma, Chievo and so on. I’ve seen this happen with Man City when Mancini was in charge as well. They dominated possession but created little dangerous moments. I have no faith in Mancini. He will spend half of our money on Yaya Toure, then scew up and our project will be ruined. You will see.
