Following tonight’s match against Empoli in which Inter won 4-3, Roberto Mancini has spoken to Sky as he analysed tonight’s game as well as talking about Inter’s future including this Summer’s transfer market.
Here is what the tactician had to say after Inter’s last match of the season:
“I will not talk about Europe as we’ve talked about it enough in the past.”
“We did well on the offensive side tonight but less on the defensive side as usual but it was important to close the season with a win and with Mauro becoming the Capo-cannoniere.”
“Inter will become competitive with those that remain and those who come in. We have 2 months to plan for next season. The problem is that it’s not easy to get players from top clubs.”
“I would clearly take the best players but we have to deal with the economic situation. I want to keep Kovacic and Icardi as young players are the most important, then insert experienced players that can further improve the team.”
“The last 5 months haven’t been all bad apart from certain results but we have become a real team. Yes there are incredible defensive errors but it’s not just the fault of the defence. I can say the team has improved a lot and with new arrivals can still improve. How many players would I take? Maybe even 8 or 9!”
“When I went to Manchester City in December 2009 we laid the foundations for the future. From there we built a team for the next season. There were players who didn’t want to come to City because they weren’t a top class team but we convinced them to come including Yaya Toure. It takes time.”

First when I read 8-9 players I was like what is this guy smoking, then I realized other than regular players fielded into the pitch there is not much to work with. Since so many players which I don’t really need to repeat there names anymore, i can say who I predict will stay, Carrizo berni, rano jj dambro santon vidic (Murillo), Medel gnoukouri guarin brozovic kovacic Hernanes, shaqiri palacio icardi = 17 players and one which arrived(Murillo), so I assume 7 more players is quite reasonable not just as starters even as subs.

Ranocchia will stay, you will see. He already signed a new contract but the club is yet to announce it. He is our captain no matter if you like it or not. He plays better when paired with a good defender [Vidic in form]. Let’s hope Murillo will be good… and that we can get another TOP defender.
Unfortunately 20m for Handanovic is UNREALISTIC, because he only has 1 more year left on his contract… 12-15m would probably do it.
You must know that Dodo is ours [OBLIGATION TO BUY], we pay installments for 3 years – in total transfer costs us 9m Euro.
D`Ambrosio will stay, he is ok player and low wage. Taider can be sold for around 7m or he could be brought back – I liked him, but he needs to keep on playing! I hope we get Allan instead of him, it would be an upgrade.
I also hope we can sell Guarin, Kuzmanovic & Obi! We need ca$h.
PS: Darmian is out of reach, Bayern will probably sign him for 20m!!!
Why would Chelsea let Felipe Luis go? I would rather try to loan Cuadrado… I think we will get Jovetic on a good deal, but they will probably keep Toure.
you need to learn english first…because i said 15 for handa and that i HOPE for 20mln….also i said that dodo is on loan because he is on loan with obligation to buy at the end and roma can take him back for small cash at the end but that will never happen..
d’ambrosio is sooooo ok that i dont know to laugh or cry when he cross… rano is SHIT!!! and always will be… that guy has mental problems and he will never be top defender…with rano in the team we need to pray our forwards to score more than rano can screw!! chelsea are not satisfied with filipe luis form this season and they are looking to use him to take griezman , so we can make triple swap guaro +cash(from inter)+cash(chelsea) for griezman (chelsea) for filipe luis(inter)… simple trade…such trades happened before can happen now too…
I love about the detail you made. only the price seem not accurate, IMO, Guarin, D’Ambrosio and Rano will stay..And sadly Kovacic will be sacrifice.And your hope for player that come maybe Mirante only. I do hope Inter get top player, Just rumour maybe Coric, Duda, and Motta seem realistic target.

Its not just 8-9 new players to sign, but also about 8-9 players to be sold/released. Players like campa, jonathan, nagatomo, dodo, carrizzo, kuzmanovic, obi, guarin, and some loanee players like schelotto and botta have to be sold or released to free some space for new players.
To be fair, Carrizzo has almost always performed well when called upon, which is not often. He is quiet and okay with being 2. Choice, i like him as sub.
He was pretty decent, until that Wolfsburg match where he single handidly lost us the game.

Carrizo’s contract is expiring by the end of this month and there are problems with his extension [he wants more] and has offers from Argentina as 1st keeper. So we will probably replace him with Antonio Mirante.
We won’t get anywhere with Rano and Juan in defense
Agreed and Mancio also saw that, by moving Juan on the left until he has a proper LB at his disposal. Rano will extend and just needs a top partner to play good. Let’s hope we can get a top defender.
All i want is top class defending system… In football “you can’t attack if you can’t defend”, that was fundamental and very basic. Rano type is sure need to be offloaded..

Ranocchia is our captain wether you like it or not and I’m 99% sure he will stay and that he already signed a contract extension. He’s a good lad, backed up by Zanetti & co., he just needs a good partner! Juan is not smart enough for a TOP CB.
I hope he means what he says. Good to see him point out Icardi and Kova as important players for the future. Time for inter to make an honest attempt to be very competitive next season!

this is a very unprofessional thing to say, it’s like he put the blame on the squad like he didn’t have any responsibility at all
and how can he compare City to the current Inter? City had all the resources to convince any player to join them while all Inter can offer right now is the brand ‘Inter’ – which in today’s football doesn’t mean a lot to the mercenaries we call football players
(btw take a look at what Pioli achieved, he left relegated Bologna and turned Lazio into a CL-team in a season without spending serious money. it can be done without Yaya Touré’s…)
I was also shocked to see that statement, but I know we all want transfers. It’s not the same situation but everybody keeps saying Thohir will invest – hopefully correctly.
It can be done without Yaya but you need a certain Anderson rated 40-50m by Premier League clubs :))

as for the transfers, of course they are mandatory but don’t have to be players from top clubs, as he said in the interview. only smart moves needed on the transfer market…
He is dissapointed with Toure, that’s why he said that. Of course it’s mission impossible to attract TOP players already at a TOP club with limited budget and without Champions League football! I wonder what they are smoking in order to target players such as Benatia 😀 😀 😀

btw, the other thing, Thohir, Ausilio, mancini talks about scudetto and CL and keeps us fans in a trance while the realistic thing would be to say: we’ll try everything in order to finish in the top4. in that case, we won’t be as disappointed as they talk about scudetto and finish only 5th. we all know Inter should compete for the title but let’s be realistic…
They don’t expect inter to win a trophy next year, inters management expectations lies within top 3. That statement “challenging for scudetto” benefits inter in so many levels for investors confidence, the actual teams confidence and a sales pitch for players they are acquiring in the market. If inter do not make a bold statement, they might lose all3 what I mentioned. Meaning the players won’t be willing to perform better, investors(sponsors..etc) will lower their investments or even back out..and quality players will not think of joining a team that has no plan of challenging for cl places at the very least.

Do you think investors sponsors watch every inter match? No. They don’t care what inter are doing week in week out.. The most important thing for an investor/sponsor is the end result… This year and last year inter never spoke of competing for the scudetto.. So it does not really matter what happens, as long as the end result will be champions league qualification and inters “image” gets back what it used to be.. The image is important because it reflects on inter and thus effect the image on the investors.
When was Fabian Lukas Schär a free agent? Check on transfermarkt – he has a contract until 2016.
What I got out of the context of what he’s saying is that a fair amount of players are leaving -but it still seems offensive to say that. You’re right, we don’t need yaya toure, we need reinforcements in defence more than anything

There is no doubt that the management wants to keep them, I was just afraid that Mancini would want to sell them to buy expensive experienced players.
If a big offer comes in for Kovacic, it won’t be Mancini’s call any more. I read INTER wants at least 30m for him… Liverpool and Barcelona already interested…
We should sacrifice Handanovic for Allan, because it seems that City are not willing to let Toure go.
Board wants to keep Kova, they would sell him only if Mancini wants that. They said that they will give Mancini team that he wants, they won’t sell Kova without his consensus. That’s why it is important that he said that he wants to keep him.
Handanovic will surely go in my opinion, Inter needs to cash in on him while they still can.
And Inter won’t have just the money for sold players for new transfers, Thohir will invest certain amount from his pocket, without Europe it will be just easier to cope with FFP.
In the end Inter couldn’t build new team from selling players because they would need to sell the best players and that wouldn’t get them anywhere..
Mancini wants new players that cost money > Board will do everything possible to raise funds, so it might be Kova unfortunately. Mancini will give his OK to sell Kova for Toure, but what if Toure does not arrive? What if the club fails to replace the talent?! We should rather keep him, as his value can only rise IMO.
Handanovic seems to lack offers and he could stay after all! These are the latest reports…
And I’m not sure you understand very well the FFP mechanism, the system will catch you eventually – the 1st time you qualify for Europe you are sanctioned…
Sign Allan, solid CB and Jovetic on LOAN would be cheap and could still keep Kova. We can also use Shaqiri as SS if Palacio is out of form/drained.

I would not sell Juan at this point, either. He is good friend with Kovacic and Hernanes 😀 Jokes aside, he is still young for a defender and I read he was troubled this period because his mother passed away.
Kolarov probably missed the INTER boat, we need fresher hungry players on the flanks.
