Stevan Jovetic has repeatedly stated his pleasure at being linked with Inter and his desire to return to Italy. Manchester City would be willing to do a deal due to the player’s incompatibility with coach Manuel Pellegrini and the English club’s desire to bring in a new striker.
What is it that is holding back the landing of the Montenegrin at Inter? Well according to reports from TuttoSport, there is hesitation from Roberto Mancini as he would like a winger with the aim of playing a 4-2-3-1 formation.
However any Inter operation could be advantageous from an economic standpoint due to the 25 year old’s relationship with Pellegrini.
Inter could move to do a similar deal to that of Xherdan Shaqiri who was brought to Milan in January. That is a loan costing 1-2M Euro with the right of redemption or obligation to buy in Summer 2016.
Jovetic was acquired by City in 2013 for 26M Euro plus 4M in bonuses and signed a contract until 2018 so if Inter did take the player on loan for a season that would leave the player with 2 years left on his Manchester City contract.
It is thought that if this were to happen then City couldn’t demand a figure more than 12-13M Euro for the striker.

Jovetic can’t play as a winger in 4-2-3-1.
Also, I’ve learned not to believe in what Tuttosport writes a long time ago.
I think our best fitting formation for next season would be 4-3-3, especially if Jovetic is the one who arrives.
Our full backs are too weak for us to keep playing 4-3-1-2, since all the width is supposed to come from them in that case.
4-3-3 all the way, with Handanovic in goal, Murillo and Miranda starting in defense, Santon left and hopefully Montoya right (Zukanovic is shit); Imbula, Kovacic and preferrably Motta, but maybe Melo or even Medel in midfield; Shaqiri and preferrably Salah or Jovetic on the flanks alongside Icardi.
1-2M loan and obligation to buy at 12-13M sounds really good.
yes a little bit risky with his injury prone history, but if treated properly injury can be minimized and when he’s fit, he can be very devastating.
robben also used to be very injury prone, but at certain point it can be minimized (played 70-80% of the season).
Either Mancini uses 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2, Inter desperately needs a striker because we cannot rely only on Icardi. Palacio is 33 years old and is not comparable to Icardi, so we need at least 4 strikers: Icardi, Palacio, Shaqiri, and ? We have to go for Nicola Sansone or Manolo Gabbiadini or Stevan Jovetic. Signing 2 out of these 3 will be great.
To be honest, i’d rather have them go for Chicharito instead. If they can’t land him then Jovetic i guess would be a good option if he can promise not to get hurt lol
I’m not convinced. He has barely played since he joined man city. How is his mental side?
That would make him cheaper I think…
Winger? According to rumors, Dzsudzsák is available for 2m from Dynamo Moscow. Worth ~10-12m.
Salah! That’s all.
Wingers = Shaqiri & Salah
SS = Palacio & Jovetic
CF = Icardi & ???
Return of Destro would work. Plus there are other benefits as he is academy player.
Not a chance, would be dumb too, icardi needs to be partnered with a player that compliments him, with speed and support like an aubameyang or pato, not a destro.
You didn’t get my point – he is Icardis back-up, not his partner. Right now, if Maurito gets injured there is no suitable replacement
would love cuadrado on the wing
Shaki and salah are both right wingers, we need a left winger for sure, cuadrado and nani or even that hungarian dzsudzsak would work.
ASAP
Inter need him to backup Icardi plus they need another winger – that along with Shaqiri and Palacio would allow them to select 3 from 5 per game.
Please don’t get jovetic… he’s injury prone…
4-3-1-2 could work, it started to work by the end of season, what’s the point switching to a 3rd formation within 10 months?!
also, in 4-2-3-1 there is no place for Kovacic, he can’t play behind the strikers and his physical attributes not good enough to work in a pair with a DM in the midfield
btw, right now only Shaqiri or Palacio could be used on the wings, that means Inter needs at least 2 more wingers for rotation, but then again, who will be the backup of Icardi?! Puscas is not the coach’s favorite for sure…a striker is a must anyway
Pato
i’d gamble with him aswell. he is still 26…
Hernanes can play wide left like he sometimes did for Lazio i think?
i don’t think he has the stamina or speed for that :/
Which is why Hernanes counts as backup for a wide berth but he’s clearly best in the centre. We need a winger and jovetic doesn’t fit that bill
actually a 4-3-3 is best fit for us
something like /
=?????-===icardi-=====shaqiri
==kovacic==-motta-===imbula
zukanovic-murillo-miranda-santon
but mancini never used a 4-3-3 before :s
Shaqiri does very well in his national team as a trequartista, so i’d keep him there. also, if the management can’t sign a quality striker to partner up with Icardi (for real, Palacio can’t be a starter next year), i’d try a 4-3-2-1 with Hernanes and Xherdan behind Mauro
4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2 are fine but they don’t have width. great fullbacks are needed for such systems, naga and danilo are not good enough.
I’d play 4-3-3, sell Hernanes, Guarin, Kuzmanovic, Obi – and get Allan and Motta for the midfield (+ Imbula).
I’d also get Montoya for the right full back position and Salah for the left wing forward.
Then I’d add depth.
Inter should take another look at Mauricio Isla for FB. He is back from loan and is playing well in South America now. He is strong defensively and can cross. At Udinese when he played regularly he was even better (before injury)
isn’t he a juventus player ? . we can’t do business with juventus.
We may not get as good a deal as we gave them for Cannavaro, but they want to sell and we have a need. Will be far easier than Darmian and maybe cheaper than Zukanovic.
Salah is better.. and cheap
