Inter have today officially announced the return of former midfielder Dejan ‘Deki’ Stankovic to the club in the role for First Team Club Manager.

A modern day Inter legend, Stankovic made 326 competitive appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 42 goals and helping the club to win 15 trophies.

As a member of Roberto Mancini’s backroom staff, Stankovic will work with the club’s management assisting in relations with first team players on and off the pitch.

Deki had this to say as he expressed his delight with the news:

“I am honoured to be coming back to Inter. I am thrilled and excited because I’ve always said these colours will remain on my skin forever. I cried the day I realised I wouldn’t be pulling on the Nerazzurri shirt anymore. I’m back here now, with a sense of pride and determination, to do my best for the club in a different role.”
