Gianluca Di Marzio has been reporting through his website on the pending arrival of Martin Montoya to Inter.
After the inconvenience that prevented the player from arriving last night, Martin Montoya has finally arrived in Italy.
The full back issued this brief statement to Sky Sport 24 before going to his Inter medical:
“Inter are a great team, I really want to play football.”

No, you’re not welcomed. You cannot come to a team like Inter and say “it’s only for two years, and I hope to be back at Barcelona”. It shows me that your head is in Spain and not in Italy. If you come here, you stay here, you give your best, and then if we want to sell you, we sell you!. Don’t like getting players like that on loan. There’s nothing good coming from that. The guy gets good after couple years, then I take him back cheap. You can do that with smaller teams, but not with big teams. It’s embarrassing.
Only thing that will give me peace of mind is knowing that we’re doing same thing as Oporto did with Casemiro.Otherwise is not worthy at all.
The guy is desperate to play, I bet he even says that in other conversations “Hey can you pass me the salt, I really want to play football”
he is desperate to play and prove barca that he is worthy their shirt and he hopes that after two years he will be number one option there in his position…anyway if alves was not renewed he would not come to us…but its a straight loan and after two years he is gone…i dont like straight loans!
I hope his transfer is like Motta and Milito Arrival. Many people underestimate, but prove a massive contribution for Inter.

You re right, that is what I thought first when I read the article. Despite that he can do well, but we have to be aware of having “I dont care for this club, just for myself” kinda player
Am i the only one who thinks this guy is going to be really good? I mean, he grew up in la masia, he has a lot of international and champions league experience, not to mention he has played in one of the strongest leagues in europe fighting for a spot against the best players in the world and hes just turned 24 years old not long ago, plus he really wants to play and prove his worth, i saw him playing a few games, hes got some talent, good speed, good dribble, nice long distance shot and quick passes, he just need some confidence and to improve his crossing, im really optimistic about this guy!
Noo i actually think he’s going to be good… he was just never given the playing time to find his form in barca… but he has great potential and i cant wait until he proves these people wrong.. 🙂
Remember, barca signed Vidal even though they already have Alves, Douglas, and Montoya on that post, it means that Montoya and Douglas are not good enough to cover Alves to be considered by barca. Well, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and i hope Montoya can be our treasure, although superstitiously i prefer madrid trashes to be our gold haha but since we can’t afford much luxuries anymore then anyone is welcomed.
I know its not the best example but, remember when we took sneijder from real madrid? he wasnt a starter, they brought new player on his spot, and we bought him pretty cheap and he became a champion,i know its not the same case but lets hope he’ll become a beast 😀
Oh and btw, in teams like barca, r. Madrid, bayern… Almost every rotation player is good in other teams because they get so many players just in case of injuries and stuff
