Wolfsburg are back in training ahead of the first match of the Bundesliga season in ten days.
In the group that trained there were three players missing in Diego Benaglio, Marcel Schaefer and Ivan Perisic.
The Swiss goalkeeper is facing a delay in his preparation due to a niggling injury and defender Schaefer is attending to his pregnant wife but on the Croatian Perisic there are currently no explanations about his absence.
The winger has been linked with a move to Inter for a long time and this absence will likely fuel rumours that a move is close.

I don’t understand anymore the plan of Mancini, I hope that he has a clear playing project in his mind and he follows it. If he wants to play 4 3 1 2 and 4 3 3 as second formation, I have some concerns about the suitability of Perisic to play in 4 3 1 2 but he will be very good in 4 3 3. In any case it bothers me that we still don’t play 4 3 3 – the formation that has to be N1 in my opinion. At the same time, other teams did very well on the market as well – Roma – Dzeko, Salah and they got back Strootman and Castan from long injuries…. and they want a good left back (Coentrao to be more precise), Ac Milan can be dangerous too if they continue to make good transfers…. and Juve are always there. So we need to sell fast our unneeded players and finish our mercato by getting the necessary players for Mancini.
I Hope for:
left back- Coentrao, DIgne, Clichy or Criscito (last choice)
Winger – Perisic or Calejon…. or Mertens (last choice)
Vice Icardi – I don’t know who for the moment
DMC – we don’t need another one and especially Melo – He has expensive salary , he will be a substitution if there is justice and whenever he comes in ..he will be sent off.
We need more creativity upfront. Yes we have Jovetic but we need more. Perisic is welcome.
Get perisic + telles/masuaku and we are done . I think we’ve already spent enough !

I like Perisic, but without another true winger coming in I think we should concentrate on buying a LB, preferably Criscito, then buy an older/experienced “vice-Icardi” for the bench, maybe bring back Destro? and stick with the 4312, which seems to be the best suited formation for this team
If Perisic comes and Mancini is able to get a LB, he’ll have no more excuses. The team has not been performing since he arrived and pre-season has been terrible, not that we should be alarmed about that, but it worries me a little bit that we haven’t seen the team playing good football this close to the beginning of the season. Anyways, he should hope for the best. Forza Inter.
Yeah, but our last pre-season with WM was pretty decent, Kova and Icardi were shining… and then the whole season went to ground. It’s annoying we lost those matches and even more that we didn’t score, but I wouldn’t put too much thought into this.
I don’t mind Inter losing these matches, even if they failed to score any goals. What I do mind is that Inter are not playing good football at all, they look clueless.

What you need to understand is that every team goes through that every single year. I’m chilled, and I’m going to support. I’m not alarmed about these games, but it worries me. By the way, only Jovetic trained for one day, I did not expect him to have an instant impact. I’m not like most of the other fans bashing Mancini, saying he should leave and what not. But playing like this raises some concerns at the very minimum.
well said.. but besides all of that I strongly believe that we won’t be as competitive as we want without proper back wings.. (more important that an attacking reinforcement)
They need time. Kondo is supposed to be organizing the midfield along with Kovacic and he’s barely linking up with his teammates. Playing as a team with so many new players will take a while.
i would love to see Kurzawa as our left back
