Felipe Melo to Inter is very close to become a done deal. The Brasilian midfielder is very close to join the club because of the last few steps forward being done during the last few hours, this also because Galatasaray seems to be ready to accept the deal on Inter’s demands.
Gazzetta dello sport reports that the Turkish club has agreed to let the midfielder leave for free by resolving his expiring contract. Though the Gazzetta also reports that it’s not Inter that wants more time to make more space in the team and on the wage list.
Melo could join Inter very soon, meanwhile Galatasaray’s president confirmed their concrete interest in signing Gary Medel. Inter wants 10 million euro’s for the midfielder and the Turks are also interested in signing Yuto Nagatomo.

As per usual I disagree with you. First of Medel turn 28 yesterday. Second he is our best defensive mid by far. Versatile as well. And with this deal we are making almost no profit. No way we are selling him.
medel is an overpriced gargano. hes not top club material. the choice is medel or kovacic as cdm/regista, and kova should get the spot for development. this is his year!
the choice of register removes the need for a destroyer, thus medel is not needed (luckily). condo is perfect. melo has passing (long+short, medel only short), tackling and experience. either you like it or not he brings attitude and winner mentality. that is what is needed. nobody likes him, but results is what counts – at least for me..
€10m is “cheap” though. €12-15m is ok. imbula would have been perfect for the right mid. a paulinho type of player is needed. i hope brozo can improve this season, or if guarin can be the player he should be with his skills, i.e. stop shooting and defend better.
fun fact: medel is valued at €7m. no superstar is valued lower than the price of schelotto! (€8m?)

I for one like Melo, we need that type of player. I feel too many interisti only remember his short time at Rube and not Fiorentina/Gala.
I agree 15mil minimum on Medel because we need to cash in on him ASAP.
I have a feeling our mid will be kdog-kova-guaro with kdog+kova doing box to box hard running (with brozo chipping in). Melo will provide competition to kova and will be introduced when we need more solidty based on how the game is panning out/tactics. (ie seal a 1-0 bring on Melo, or game tied 0-0 when Melo started, bring on Kova)
Fun fact, schelotto isn’t as crap as everybody thinks. He was given no time to adjust and had proved on multiple occasions he is decisive in Serie A, would make a great squad player and even a RB! Has heart and ha sitalian passport too… and he’s free! Not a star but a useful averag-ish player
fair points throughout your answer. good analysis on melo. i thought he would play at guarin´s spot, but what you said is very likely. only bad thing with melo is potential disruption of a good locker-room, but he´s very needed to raise aggressiveness and work-ethics.

You want to disagree with me because you refuse to open your mind my friend. We’re not gonna play with defensive mids, do you not see that? Versatile? He does the same thing nomatter where you play him: hard running, simple passing and poor positioning. He’s a workhorse that can plays DMF or CB, Ranocchia is more versatile!
We bought him for what 10 mil? we sell him for 15/18 and get Melo for cover for the same salary? That’s pretty good especially since Melo can actually distribute the ball and has vision. Not to mention Melo actually is tactically aware. Don’t judge Melo on his short time with Rube, judge him based on his time with Fiorentina/Gala.

Melo to replace Medel, Melo is a smarter player. Medel with not leave for under 15mil, if we get Melo + 12mil it’s actally pretty good business. We used him for a year, made 2 mil and got a smarter player in return.
