After the disappointing 0-1 defeat to Sassuolo, Roberto Mancini has been speaking to the microphones of Premium Sport.
Here is what Mancini had to say after an awful TIM Trophy tournament performance where Inter also suffered a 2-1 defeat to derby rivals AC Milan.
Concerned by the defensive amnesia?
“No, when you concede goals sometimes it is because the opponents are good. I was angry however at the situations in which we have to be more responsive.”
Disappointed by the defeats?
“If we are too the point then I have to be disappointed for the TIM Trophy. It will take 4-5 games to find our best shape but this is the same for everyone.”
The referees?
“These are things that in my opinion must change their attitude, I was asking for an explanation of offside. But no problem, I just need to talk a little bit more.”

HEY MANCIO, who is your trequartista/attacking mid? Hernanes or Kovacic? You have to get an attacking midfielder since both Kova and Hernanes are not such kind of players! You need Lamela, not Perisic!!! Your defense should pair like this:
SANTON – RANO – MIRANDA – D’AMBRO
Yuto was superior to both D’ambro and Santon. Santon refused the transfer so we have to move D’ambro who is arguably the more solid in defense.

That’s what I thought. Miranda is new. Murillo needs time+diligent work. JJ is not a backbone of defense. So Rano is the only one who can pair with Miranda in center back position.

Thank you for showing some common sense. I can’t believe people are already asking for Mancini to be sacked. And some are saying how good (or better) Nagatomo is… It is a long tournament at this point most players are still dealing with fitness and tactics isssues. It would take a couple of “real” games for the team to pick up the pace.

Seriously guys, these preseason preparation things made me worried that we have not improved physically, technically and tactically. I know… that most of our starters are new, but it shouldn’t be an excuse at all. Mancio looks seriously confuse, he kept switching and testing different formations over and over again. We should have completed tactical experiments long time ago. It’s just like Mancio was buying players and will think the formation later with these new players. For me, that’s insane. Darn, the real competition will start in freaking 10 days!

ok, we will continue to lose game as long as mancini ask attacker to get back and defend, once their is attacking opportunity no one can take it because every one is tired..Shaqiri is more than saviour, he could have been the next schnieder and even better. mancini continnue to play our players in awkward positions shifting them around like they are some unkown objects to him, the whole team looks clumsy and tired ..
sorry Shaq and Sneijder are nothing alike. One is a power player the other is about finesse. One is a showboat… the other pulls the strings and makes the team look more cohesive.

I'm still not convinced by Shaq, he doesn't have Sneijder's vision. Shaq is power, he likes to dribble.. run with the ball… SNeijder likes to make the ball run for him… doesn't really dribble, more of a one touch guy. Sneijder is a classic AMF, Shaq is a WF.
Everyone is clumsy and have tired legs in pre-season! We needed to sell someone in order to buy, and everyone wanted to keep Kova so therefor selling Shaq instead was pretty logical.
