Such a great defence ! Miranda, we knew (starter in Atletico and Brazil) was very good, but murillo what a signing, 8m, 23 yo, and he’s good at passing aswell. Our cb’s will be our strenght this season. And also better performance then expected from Juan jesus. Biggest problems was to create goal opportunities, but Perisic would solve a lot thanks to his dribbling/long shot ability, and also a good CM who can do great passes across the opponent’s back line! (Imagine with MOtta at Medel’s place.. Medel good at defending, but he choke some easy pass that could’ve got us goal opportunities)
Now, don’t get at me, but with this squad, we can fight for scudetto:
Handa – Santon – Miranda – Murillo – JJ (? If he plays like tonight, otherwise, a good LB)
MOTTA – Kondogbia – Brozovic(Gnokouri)
Jovetic – Icardi – Perisic.

we surely need Perisic, but i’m not sure he can ease our impotence in attack. we need a “maestro” in the midfield alongside the two/three man-eaters. Hernanes is just as inconsistent as Guarin

We need someting on the wings because our full-backs are not really in the Maison-class and therefor we cannot play 4-3-1-2 relaying on the full-backs to open up play but in stead should get wingers who will do the same and let JJ do what he does best; defend and close the gap behind the winger in front of him.
4-3-1-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1… any of those need someone with creativity in the midfield, that’s where you build up the play (btw, since Perisic supposed to be a done deal, next up i want to see a creative player for the midfield)
Kondogbia could be that build upper – if not Motta is ready to return. Plus I really think Medel isn’t good enough for Inter when playing this ball-possesion style of football where the midfielders needs to be creative and not just destroyers like under Mazzari… Hopefully a central midfielder who knows who to play ball arives (Motta/ Melo…)

Definitely bro, this is the first time since 2010-11 the back line looks solid and the team has confidence to go forward. Even without perisic this has undoubtedly been one of the best transfer market since summer 2009.

I disagree, medel covers lot of ground, always chasing and recover posession while also giving confidence to those around him. Did you see how ease kondog when he saw medel chase and recover loss or 50/50 balls?
Medel did the dirty works and kondog carry the ball, we just need one more MF with a flair, or play through the wings. I hope Murillo-Miranda wont get any serious injury as well as Jojo.

stopping counters are a team effort and everyone particpates in it as we’s seen. miranda and kondogbia recovered the most balls yesterday. as for his passing; it sucks. i’m guessing that’s why mancini wants felipe melo. who excels at passing and defending.

tbh. our midfield of kondogbia-medel-brozovic is great. the ball reached our forwards but they couldn’t do anything with it. all we need is two good wingers on the ball and that’s it. yesterday the team did everything perfectly except the forwards. we defended greatly, we didn’t lose the ball as much as before (kovacic effect, that’s why i think mancini sold him). and the midfield did it best to deliver balls for the forwards. it was jovetic, hernanes and palacio who didn’t unlock their defense.
the problem was jojo, palacio and even icardi is not 100% fit for this match.. mancini has no choice.. he took the risk and play icardi, then icardi can’t continue.. if icardi can play for 90 mins, we will see hernandes and jojo for 20-30 mins only.. who want to risk the player early of the season..

I’ll take the win. But we looked poor. All game we went thru the middle and barely attempted to go wide. Seemed like attack was being run thru Medel which is a terrible idea and lineup was too defensive… Like our back line so far. Murillo and Miranda looked good playing together. JJ wasn’t bad and created some chances.
Our full back almost always on the opponent side bro, we just need a pair of more quality-going forward full backs, cause i have confidence in Murillo-Miranda plus Medel-Kondog kuartet…i even saw several times Kondog carry the ball with speed from our side to their side.
Yes I like the pairings also. Our fullbacks were on opponents side but no one was giving them the ball to cross. We kept going thru the middle.

Nah, it’s not like that I think we are now ready to fuck up Serie A and take the Scudetto. Our attack is still in a very very bad shape. But you must admit, a fucking 93th minute screamer on a debut game for such a frustrating win is like a drug, amazing feeling.
