Ex Inter and Italian national team coach Giovanni Trapattoni has been giving his views on the new Serie A season including Sunday night’s Milan Derby in an interview for TuttoSport.
“Beautiful teams, great players and talented foreigners, I think we can say that Serie A will be more balanced than in the past four years but I am convinced that Juventus will win the Scudetto again.”
“The Milan Derby? Mancini has many champions and it is not easy to put them all together but Inter is a very good team with a good coach. We can’t judge right now but they will be a star.”
“I have to admit however that I like AC Milan a little more for the simple fact that they have an accurate and proper identity but we are only at the beginning of the season, both clubs will be protagonists in the new season.”

He honestly got a point. For the Derby everybody is expecting inter to play with a 4-2-3-1. But how many times have we used that formation and the key players in that formation (Ljajic, Perisic and Maybe Melo)?… The answer is Never. So, for the derby Milan is going to be a little more tactically prepared. They will try to destroy the plays in the midfield steal the ball and counter quickly, like they have been doing in their previous games. That off course doesn’t imply they are going to win it. Their defense is horrible and midfield is just a bunch of hitmen without any creativity. They solely rely on their strikers.
I’m preatty sure we will play with the same formation as in the first games, just with different players. Maybe he will put Perisic in place of Palacio, but on the other hand has had Palacio availale fo the training all the time and maybe he will trust more in him. Or he will just replace Palacio with Icardi, if he is ready.
If Balotelli is that Balotelli who played at Inter and Milan then Milan is stronger than us. I hope Balotelli continue to fail.
Even “if” Balotelli who played for inter is back now for Milan this season bro we have a tip top players with a killer formation 4-2-3-1 so I dont really think that Milan is a stronger then us, not in any way.
Lol balo is overweight
Their midfield is shite and they have no creativity. They can rely on individual brilliance from Bacca and Adriano, but so can we from Jojo and Icardi.
Their defence isn’t so great either
but their players have been playing with the same system for a few months now. and it’s reported that we’ll try a whole new one…
that’s what “proper identity” meant.
Was just adding to the whole shitty mid comment 🙂
I think most of our new signing have played 4-2-3-1 so we’ll get to the point we want to reach faster than we expect
how likely is that? i’ll be really surprised if mancini plays a 4-2-3-1 at the derby.
No, not at the derby. I said it myself in another discussion that 4-3-3 is more stable for the derby but we all know we are going for a 4-2-3-1 in the near future and IMO we’ll adjust to it faster than we expect
“proper identity” and what inter has more false identity or what. no wonder why nobody gives you a job
He was a Milan player, ofc he’s gonna say that. The last team he coached was the Vatican city team, Jesus is calling for him.
you don’t see the fact that he’s nearly 80 years old and doesn’t coach anymore ?!!
he made a good point. milan has been using their players and system for a few months now. and it’s reported that mancini will use a system(433) we hardly played before. that’s what “proper identity” means…. some people make me feel like einstein with how illiterate they are.
Well Gee, I’m terribly sorry my comment made you have to explain to the common masses what things mean. And yes, I did reference the last club he’s managed after I carefully and thoroughly researched his whole career and had his age in mind, I just like to make fun of old people, you see. Hope feeling like Einstein among football fans does you good.
noted.
“I just like to make fun of old people, you see.” don’t do it too often though.. ^^
The way he said ‘proper identity’ was like saying someone was smuggling our players from U.S-Mexican border all the way to Italy, giving them fake Passports, and fake IDs labeling them as Argentinians, Colombians, Croats, Serbs, Chileans, etc. (I’d have to admit, i once thought Gary Medel is a Mexican before we signed him.)
Silly ol’ Trapattoni
We’ll see about that 🙂
