Stevan Jovetic has been speaking to Inter Channel after Inter’s 1-0 victory in the Milan Derby tonight which has put the Nerazzurri top of the Serie A standings.
Here is what the Montenegrin had to say:
“I’d played at San Siro lots of times before with Fiorentina but I’d never seen it this full. And I’ve played in Manchester derbies but they weren’t like this.”
The match itself?
“We won today and got the three points and that’s all that matters. Both sides had chances but I think we deserved it in the end.”
Not getting carried away:
“We have an excellent team and we’ve got off to a cracking start but we’re only three games in. We need to keep going one match at a time. We must focus on Chievo now. We’re aiming for the top three but we’ll see where we are in March and if we can maybe aim a bit higher.”
Your newly found continuity?
“I hadn’t been playing very regularly since leaving Florence. Today I was a bit tired after the travelling and my two games with Montenegro but I’m pleased with my performance, especially in the first half. As a striker you need to be mean so you can both set up team-mates and score goals.”
