After the defeat against Fiorentina, Inter are ready for one of their biggest tests of the season facing Sampdoria at the Galileo Ferraris on sunday. For the occasion, the Nerazzurri will take the field with there new third jersey for the first time this season. The dominant color is yellow, with black accents on the edges of the sleeves and shorts. The yellow jersey first appeared in 80’s and 90’s, and was last worn by the team in the 2003/04 season.

I just hope Handanović stops playing with the ball like recently. I love him as a GK, literally one of my favorite Inter players in the last few years, but god damn it I hate it when he plays with the ball. There was like 10 times we almost conceded in the last season. He should learn to just clear it if he is in doubt. I’d take a throw-in over a potential goal every day.
I analysed the replays and found out half the fault is Gary Medel’s. He passed the ball to Handa on to his weaker leftfoot which forced him to take an extra touch on the ball. As a defender you should know your GK’s prefered foot and make it easier for him. I would say more than half the fault is Medel’s. If he would have passed to him on to his right foot Handa would have cleared the ball directly.
I don’t believe for a second that handa doesn’t have the reaction to instantly clear it away. I’ve seen handa doing this many times and getting away with it luckily. Not this time though
As i said it would help to receive the ball on right foot as a GK. Specially when being pressed that much by opposition forwards. So blame Medel for that too.
Yes medel made a mistake but that mistake should not translate into something so bad. I would give only 20% of the blame to medel
I agree that Medel was a part of that fault, but over half? No way. Handanović could have easily cleared it if he had judged well that he cannot distribute it forwards.
