Today there are the internationals, but in the background there is always Inter. An intense period for Fredy Guarin, who is waiting to take the field against Peru, gave some statements to local media outlets including AS Colombia.

“I am happy to be back, I needed to be here. These qualifiers give me great motivation to start well. Personally for me its very important to be back in Colombia”.

“I will always fight for a place in the side, but it is important to stay in order to give a proper contribution. The group has changed, and when the manager calls us we must be ready. Me at trequartista? I’m available, I know this role. I have covered it in the past and I can do well”.

“Everyone knows the climate we have here (in Colombia). We must adapt to it and reap the benefits”.

“Every match is different to the others (matches). Peru have always created problems and these games are always difficult. But as I said, we must start well. They have improved and they are strong. Colombia shouldn’t commit the same errors that were made in the friendlies.”

“I’ve missed the national side a lot, it feels like the first time I was called by Reinaldo Rueda, all the veterans have remained”.

“We (Inter) are at the top in the standings, this is very important. The squad and Mancini give me so much, this is important for my work”.
