our current squad is really great for Seria A target but he is coward to rotate players, Santon showed he is not 100% fit yet he played him when we signed Dani Alves Sub and technically better player like D’ambrosio is benched.
Frankly, I think Santon is way better than Montaya and D’Ambro.
if that’s based on his performance with INTER so far then i am surprised to come to such conclusion this early (but i respect your opinion), i do find Santon struggle to attack and defend with consistency, he is not fast to do such role and require “special” cover but when you can’t cross then whats the point.
he is OK when it comes to playing a tactical game with balanced performance without causing risks so far but not the next level we need to compete.
we need flanks that are dangerous when they have the chance, so far none apart from D’Amb who i like his performance last season specially in attacking football.
anyway we can’t judge Montoya yet until he is given the chance (i don’t see that happening with defensive football we play) and he has better qualities on paper compared but he lacks experience in defensive side of game, so its worth trying him and rely a bit more on full backs to help overlapping with parking the bus teams like those we faced and fast players to cover the flanks in counter attacks which we suffered from against Fiorentina.
