Marco Materazzi Jose Mourinho

Speaking to Uefa.com, the Portuguese coach of Chelsea Jose Mourinho retraces his two victories in the top European competition, in 2004 at the helm of Porto and in 2010 when he took Inter to the throne of European football after 45 years.

About the magical evening in Madrid, the Special One had this to say:

“The Inter fans are special, president Massimo Moratti is even more. We were like a family and we were able to do well that year and win it all. Against Bayern Munich, it was the biggest match for many of my players. For people like Javier Zanetti, Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, Marco Materazzi and Cristian Chivu it was the last chance to win that trophy. And we played that game with that mentality. And we were not only eleven playing on the pitch, but thousands, thousands and thousands, because Inter had waited for that moment for so many years. Bayern had a good team, but everything was perfect. We were very confident, for me it was the best way to leave the team. A team that I really love. ”

With Chelsea Mourinho might win his third Champions League with three different clubs, a historic first. But according to the coach from Setubal, the real goal is this: “We want to win, but not to get a record. If someone does it before me, or if he wins four or five Cups, I do not care. I just want to win with the clubs that I train. ”
