After Inter’s 1-1 draw away at Palermo, coach Roberto Mancini spoke to Mediaset Premium:

“Palermo put us under pressure in the first half. We were not organized and the space between our attackers and midfielders allowed them to have some chances. In the last 15 minutes of the game Jovetic helped create space, and we were unlucky to have gone down to 10 men.”

Mancini then went on to speak about the team’s performance:

“Icardi’s goal drought? At the moment this is the situation many attackers are struggling with. It is imperative that we stay calm and continue to improve. We are not satisfied because we wanted to win.”

The tactician was asked a question about Napoli’s relentless attack:

“Higuain and Insigne have been playing together for three years now, while this is only the first season in which Jovetic and Icardi are playing together. Strikers need to be involved in the team’s play. Today we played with two fullbacks who pushed forward and helped create chances. Biabiany? He cannot handle the full 90 minutes, or else he would have started. I hope that we can help him improve his physical condition. He attacks space very well and can be an important player for us.”

Mancini concluded by talking about the attacking situation:

“Ljajic and Biabiany are recovering. We also have Palacio. Are we playing the right formation? There will be times where we have to change it. I took off Kondogbia because he was booked, I wanted to do the same for Murillo as well.”
