In a long interview with L’Equipe, Thiago Motta spoke about why he decided to stay with the French champions and not to leave for a new experience.
“From the moment we decided to continue to play together my commitment to the club has been 100%. Football isn’t only played on the pitch, you have to continuously think about the training ground, where you live, whilst maintaining the mantra of winning.”
“PSG is the best team I have ever played for, even stronger than Barcelona in 2006. At PSG every department of the team is better even if we do lack a Ronaldinho who during that period in time made the difference. The final at San Siro is far away. I don’t know what all the fuss is about. The current PSG side is indeed better than all of his previous teams. 2006 Barcelona was, while great, a team reliant on individual talents of Puyol, Deco, Ronny and Eto’o. 2010 Inter won because of our spirit, remarkable teamwork and tactical superiority. The current PSG side is on paper just amazing. The players are big and strong, hard-working and possess great skills on the ball. They can play with the ball or win ugly. If all of them work for each other like 2010 Inter did, it’s scary to imagine how good they can be.

I wonder how big of a bonus he received for saying all that.. the 05-06 Barcelona and 09-10 Inter squads are teams that have a permanent place in the history books of football, but somehow PSG tops his list? I highly doubt that this is his honest opinion, but money talks!
