A few times Montoya fails to receive passes from his teammates, even when Handa kick a direct long pass to him, -if you remember. He’s kinda late to response. Not good in defense, and nothing special in attack too. Doesn’t link well enough with others.

What movement? did he created a chance or spaces for others to shoot at goal ? Really? When?
Speed?
Just enough speed, not far from our other Fullbacks.
Crosses?
Which crosses? How many of it arrived at someone’s head to be headed to the goal?

I think you guys are delusional toward the fact that he came from La Masia. But he didn’t even show a glimpse of Catalan style in the Udine match at all.

I think his offensive game together with the crosses are something to take a positive note. His movements are Barca. He had couple of wrong passes because he was expecting runs from the other teammates just like in Barca. His defensive game was somehow ok. He leave too much space when he go forward but he had interceptions and steals.
Im not saying we should sign him or let him go, its hard and you can not judge after one game, all Im saying that the kid didn’t had a chance till now. He had now and played more then average. He played better then Santon in both aspects. Only D`Ambrosio to be better in defense then both of them but in offense D`Ambrosio provide nothing.

Why? Mancini even said himself, that he rarely changes the defense, and sorry that Montoya didn’t have enough space. And he also pointed out, that usually a player that barely played will become man match.
