Bad team selection in starting Melo, Montaya and Biabiany instead of Kondo/Brozo, Ljajic and Santon; awful substitution in taking JoJo out instead of Melo and finally we paid the price.

In my opinion, Melo showed a gradual decrease in his game play after Maurito’s goal. He lost his ability to control his game play and temper, so changed him with someone else (ie. K-dog) will be better. I didn’t understand why Mancini didn’t substitute him? My best prediction, Mancini trying to keep the high intensity in the central mid in order to push up the defensive line and maintain the high pressure. The cost is an individual error by Melo. You can be aggressive in the central mid, but you should be smart if the opponent played in our penalty area. Melo should learn about this. The important point is that the group still stick together, start to gain point and beat our direct rival.
Well, the gap is sooo tight right now, just 1 point above Fiorentina and Napoli, 3 point above Juventus, and 4 point above Roma who sit in fifth place. Disappointed, but what can I say, there is a lose and a win in football. Forza Inter!

Defense looked good tho. Outside of Melo we held our own. Attack struggled but I think Ljajic and Jovetic should always start together in big games. I missed alot of the first half but Icardi looked pumped running alot
Icardi tried his best and finished when called upon..the defence were decent that is miranda and murillo..apart from them at the back we looked horrible ..poor distribution by the cdms and we got what we deserved..

i think mancini needs to rethink his tactical decisions and formation. going forward i think we should ditch the 4-2-3-1 and focus on a 4-3-2-1. it brings more balance. perisic hasn’t impressed while jovetic and ljajic did alot. both operate centrally .
I’m sorry but Mancini has been on point on tactics this season. We were dominating on the second half after we scored, and before Melo gave away that stupid unnecessary penalty. Mancini’s fault was not trusting Brozo and Kondogbia to be able to play a defensive minded midfielder role, and I could see his point…

granted we won some of them but in no shape or form were we the better team. you see inter has solely relied on two things this season 1- good defense 2- individual attacking moments… in most of our games the opposition had created alot more than us. our back 4 is awesome and our attack is great. but our midfield is just not good enough. our two pitbulls were no match for lazio, juventus fiorentina, napoli’s midfield. it only takes one person to make the midfield look bad IE(Bologna match). we’re lacking someone who has technicality. à la thiago motta, busquets, biglia, xhaka.
medel and melo’s contribution are limited to defending. while i think they both are decent but imo can’t win us a scudetto or a top 3 finish. we need someone who can build from the back. while still being solid at defending. without that i have a hard time believing we can get far. lets see how things play out 🙂
We had one (Kovacic) and we gave him away because Mancini didn’t see the need for one. I believe our team has grown in terms of offensive performance and we should not judge them based on the loss to Lazio. We already have midfielders whom are technically superior to our pitbulls but Mancini chose to start two work horses in a 4231 system playing a team with super fast wingers (Anderson, Candreva, Keita). This will push him to trust Guarin more than Melo but as he expressed he doesn’t have trust in Brozo as a DM in 4231. I’d personally like him to try Gnoukori there along with Medel when we play 4231.
