The man who is overseeing the operation, Ausilio, believes Marseille would want Diarra to depart for 3-4 million euros, a figure that is quite high considering he arrived on a free transfer last summer after the long dispute with former club Lokomotiv Moscow. Lassana, who in recent days was told of the interest of Roberto Mancini, did not remain indifferent to the lure of the Nerazzurri, knowing full well which club gives him the visibility ahead of the European Championships which will be taking place in France. Mancini did express his admiration for the former Real Madrid midfielder because he is looking for a player who can act as a midfielder and an anchor ahead of the defence. Melo’s sending off against Lazio meant he wants an alternative to the Brazilian, as the supposed replacement of Geoffrey Kondogbia who has not proven himself. After attempting to sign him a year ago, Piero Ausilio has kept the transfer talk open and ready to try again this year. Diarra remains a priority, and right now a more pressing concern than Pirlo.
