Roberto Mancini has been speaking to Sky Sports after today’s disappointing defeat 0-1 against Sassuolo at San Siro which was won with an injury time penalty by Berardi.

“Lack of clarity for us definitely, Sassuolo have created little or nothing, their penalty unfortunately comes from our mistake, that is football.”

“Ljajic had two great scoring opportunities, we knew it would be a tough match, but we had the opportunities to be able to win.”

“I think Berardi has to be sent off, Doveri was there and is usually always very precise with us.”

“We still have to improve physically, our midfield was too packed and we missed too many balls out as with their penalty which came from a mistake from Nagatomo.”

We have 39 points at the halfway stage, but we could have even more, the last two defeats were very similar games and there is much regret. Always better to win 1-0 than to lose by the same score,  we must be patient.”
