According to SportItalia Inter has made an official move for Xhaka today. The channel reports that Inter has made official contacts with Borussia Mönchengladbach to discuss the player who has been on Inter’s radar for a while. Inter wants to know if there are any possibilities for the club to get Xhaka in January to reinforce Mancini’s midfield for the rest of the season.

Xhaka’s base price according to transfermarkt is €20 mil, I’d guess it’d take at least €30 mil for Mönchengladbach to consider a sale, and I doubt that’s a transfer sum Inter can afford right now..

Inter’s in a bit of an annoying situation right now because it’s not that we don’t have the money, our owner’s net worth is approaching the billions, but the issue instead is FFP letting Thohir spend it. We could easily afford players like Xhaka if it wasn’t for the FFP breathing down our necks like the fat kid behind us in line for free cake!
