Inter travel to Verona tomorrow to face off with Hellas at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, kick-off at 12.30 CET. Roberto Mancini held a press conference at Appiano Gentile ahead of the match and SempreInter.com give it to you in its entirety below.

Did you get the reaction you wanted and expected against Chievo? Are the coming matches decisive in order to make the Champions League or not?
“We played a great match, that’s for sure. But also against Milan we played well, until we missed the penalty. It wa shard work and many chances created although we should generally close these matches sooner.”

Will Jovetic play less now that Eder has arrived?
“Someone has to be benched, we have many attackign players and at the most we can play 3 or 4 of them. The others cant play but everyone has done what they have to up until now.”

What is Inter’s attack missing?
“We have struggled to score, but it’s also down to bad luck. We have to look to try to score at least 2 goals, otherwise we will have difficulties towards the end of the matches.”

Has Melo disappointed you until now?
“Absolutely not, although I must admid that he’s suffered a dip in form after the match against Lazio.”

Why do you think you’re struggling to score more goals?
“Because of imprecision when finishing but that’s regardless of how many strikers we have. This is football. Icardi will score his goals, that’s for sure.”

Speaking of Icardi, what is he lacking in order for you to be 100% satisfies with him?
“I am satisfied, but everyone can’t play. Sometimes some players have to rest but I repeat I’m satisfied. Mauro can improve like many other young players.”

Does playing with a back 3 defense scare the team?
“I had to bring on a midfielder or a defender against Carpi, then against Chievo we played with 5 due to tactical reasons. The attitude and mentality ahs to be proactive, but unfortunately these last few matches we’ve been unlucky.”

Are you struggling with making choices for tomorrow given the suspensions?
“No, because it wont be easy against Hellas. We are thinking about this match then we will see.”

Many coaches have been sent off recently, do you think the referee’s are touchy when intercating with the coaches?
“Only in Italy do they send off coaches and suspend them. No other country in the world does this unless they do something really serious. Don’t let me talk too much about this, let’s stop here. I was never sent off abroad, where you can talk to the referee and nothing happens. It’s normal to talk.”

What do you think about what Montoya said?
“It’s a pity, but I can understand a player gets demoralised when he doesn’t get to play very often. I repeat, I’m sorry and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Is the issue of whether or not you qualify for the Champions League weighing on your future?
“We knew our objective from the start and we’re on track with those. We did very well at the start of the season, then by drawing or losing games we should’ve won we lost a bit of momentum but we have to think positively.”.

Can you play Medel in the middle of defense tomorrow?
“I think it will be difficult as he’s too short and against Toni and Pazzini it wont be easy for him.”

What is holding Inter back in terms of how you play?
“There are only 4-5 teams who play a fantastic football, and these are the biggest teams in Europe. In Italy it’s not simple and the results matter, so in the end everyone is conditioned by the final result. Against Chievo we did well, then it’s not easy to play well in the Serie A, even against the smaller teams. In other league’s you have more space.”

Kondogbia is improving his performances…
“I’m satisfied with Geoffrey, it’s the same discussion as with Icardi. He needs to adapt to such a tactical league as the Serie A and he will becoem a great midfielder. Sometimes he makes mistakes but it’s all part of growing up when you’re young.”

What do you think about the period Santon is going through?
“He injured himself and was available for selection after a long time. I selected him against Milan because he was doing well in training, although he fell back in the second half. But he did well in the first half.”

Would you like to name 5 players that will start tomorrow as you usually do?
“Handanovic, Juan Jesus, Kondogbia, Icardi and Murillo”.

Do you think that the fans judgement of Kondogbia is due to his heavy pricetag?
“Yes, but all he needs is time. He will surely improve, during this season as well as next season.”
