Rome-based Corriere dello Sport reveals in today’s newspaper that “now Sevilla knows that Banega will play for Inter next season. The SPanish club has received an official document from Inter explaining that they are negotiating with Banega. This is nothing more than a formality, which is useful to keep a certain kind of rapport between the clubs, but there are no doubts regarding the Argentine’s future: he will sign a three year contract where he will earn €3 million per season plus bonuses but will arrive on a free transfer costing nothing. Ausilio has done well to wrap up the deal for one of the most sought after players whose contract was expiring.”

FcInterNews.it report further that: “Sevilla’s hopes of keeping the former Valencia man have evaporated. Banega had the option to renew his contract after having played a minimum of 30 matches for 45 minutes or more, so the clause was never up to the club to activate nor was is subject to coming in to effect automatically. Banega will have to pay a small fine for not signing the contract extension with Sevilla who is liked by Thohir and where Zanetti helped out a lot to wrap up the deal.”
